Hello Dwarlinks, it's me, Sinny-Tru, your very own ARfm fashion icon....um thingy... with the latest fashion commentary (almost) direct from Rock City ;D Well girls and boys....where shall I start? This year there was no single look that dominated....except maybe the 40-something male rock fan (band t-shirt, slouchy jeans, trainers) and even the 80s rock DJ had evolved a new look and was seen sporting a real shirt....yes dwarlinks...with real buttons and not an Arfm logo in sight (well not on Friday anyway!) Quite a few gentlemen were wearing stetsons.....for reasons best known to themselves! One was obviously trying to hide his beautiful blonde mullet so as not to outshine the other more folically challenged gentlemen Oh, and do you remember Catweazle? The bearded wizard from 70s childrens TV? Well I can reveal that he is alive and well and working as a stetson-wearing rock photographer!! Now...the ladies...lots of corsetry on show in a variety of colours. Two ladies appeared to be wearing each others corsets, ....very nice, but the peach one would have looked much better on the redhead instead of the shocking pink one dears! Maybe they got dressed in a hurry?! White knee length or even thigh length boots were very evident....after partaking of rather too much alcohol on the Friday night, one poor young lady had put on a top but forgotten the skirt!! Must be something in the water in Nottingham my sweeties! I think the Sinny-tru award for Most Breathtaking Individual Outfit At Firefest must go to the lovely lady with the black and purple pineapple pony-tail, purple corset, black mini skirt, black wool tights and goth boots. If you saw her dwarlinks, you'll know who I mean Bon Soir mes cheries, abientot!!! ;D Sinny-Tru xxx

Only other downer for me was the FM CD. Cd wasn't in stock when I first went to the stand, still wasn't in after Jaded Heart, but by the time I'd managed to squeeze out from the front ( the venue was packed even early on ) after Valentine ... all sold out ... gutted. Tez,I would imagine the cd will become available on www.fmofficial.com when it launches on the 5th Nov.We nearly got caught out with it too, they said they were waiting for them to be autographed at the start,we got it during Crunch, only by standing near the stall!!!

First of all, sorry Liz that we didn't meet! I visited at the bar you told that you would bee on friday (was it Tab & Tumbler) but went away soon cause there's no sense to hang out there when I didn't know who to search... And on friday I left right after Soul Doctor - how pathetic (edit: I mean that I was, not Soul Doctor!)! But I was SO tired I almost fell asleep as I was standing.. And I missed Threshold. But Stormzone was awesome. On saturday I was waiting to see Harem Scarem, Jaded Heart and my favorite - FM! Jaded Heart just blew me away, what an absolutely amazing show, great songs and after the whole show I got a chance to talk with Johan Fahlberg (singer) who was really nice and gosh I loved his pants! ;D little bit of eye candy! Crunch, Valentine and jorn wasn't exaclty something I'd like to see. Harem Scarem was good, it's great that I have seen them now! Tyketto. Well, I have only heard about Danny's solo material and this was a good surprise! And I was breathless when Danny kept just yelling like crazy and taking time! Gosh, he ain't even human! ;D And the Big Thing for me was FM. I have been a fan of them about 7 years now and I NEVER thought that I would got a chance to see them live. NEVER. And when it finally happened, I was just screaming and shaking, I'll never gonna forget this night. (And I'll never gonna forget the look on Overland's face when he saw my message for the band, I was just melting ). If I had to choose one top moment on this evening, it would be that I got a chance to reach and touch Steve Overland (and Pete Jupp) - okay, this sounds like a teenager thing but I can't help it That was surely amazing! After the gig was ended I saw Steve Price and he was so nice (he gave me FM's songlist and Merv's guitar pic - Thank You Steve!). So, it was the best gig I have ever been (way better than the Whitesnake gigs or ZZ Top gig and they were stunning!) and I gotta say thanks to Steve Price, Kieran, Bruce, and all the guys who had worked to make this happen! And ofcourse the bands! Harem Scarem, Tyketto, Jaded Heart and FM (P.S. Is Kieran still here, I have to ask him something ;D) --- Edit: If that nice couple from Manchester is here, please contact me. You were queuing right before me when we were outside and I was standing next to you on the front row, I gotta thank You for being so polite and nice (I'm the girl with blue FM shirt and that sign for FM )

Yet another entertaining weekend in Nottingham Friday afternoon in the Tap and Tumbler with the Hull posse, including LJC (the Hustler). Not many jukeboxes in the world have Harem Scarem, Tyketto and Jorn on them Friday night highlights were Stormzone and Soul Doctor. I have to agree that the venue was light years better than the Rig, and the two rooms meant there was somewhere to have a chat with people at less than 150 decibels ;D And getting to talk to Pete Lesperance was a real treat, too Saturday started disappointingly, as the plates at the Crowne Plaza were not hot enough to remove Shaggys fingerprints this year, so the juggling was cancelled So onto the bands... Jaded Heart were excellent. It's a pity that they were on so soon after the doors opened, so alot of people will have missed them. Crunch recovered well from early technical problems ("this is Doug, who usually plays bass in this band") to deliver a tight set. Steve Perry and his band were up next, but played no Journey songs, which confused me My mother told me that if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything. So moving swiftly on... After Jorn were the mighty Harem Scarem. Now I freely admit to being just a touch biased, but they were awesome ;D Any HS set is going to divide opinion, as they'd need 3 hours to get through everyones favorite tracks, but with Dagger, The Paint Thins, Human Nature and No Justice in the set I was a happy bunny. Bit worried about Harrys "new direction", mind Tyketto were very strong - Danny is a supreme showman, and the band were on form Looking forward to seeing them again tomorrow in Belfast. New CD is pretty good, too. FM delivered a polished performance, and it looks like the reunion is to be extended into a tour next year. Great to meet up with all the (un)usual suspects - Janette, Alison, SP, LJC, Shaggy, Elaine, Richard and Amanda, Kozzy, the population of Hull and Steve Newman, and also a few new faces - Woody, Tez, Debbie, Pete, Sam and Nigel. Thanks to Kieran and Bruce for another splendid event.
