Ticket booked @ £55 ( yup I was the early one mentioned on the show that booked too early :-) ) ... I have sent a further £2 to cover the difference. Already trying to find my Romeos Daughter T-Shirt !!!! As to mystery band .... Gotthard does nothing for me .... Given that Saturday looks a tad 'lighter' than Friday I'm expecting someone quite 'heavy' in the support slot ( so will probably take a break towards the back ) Anyone staying at the Holiday Inn Express Cheers Tez

I have just counted the * that Mr P put up,but there is one too many for Survivor!!!! Richard You give me too much credit. I was shattered at the end of that show (seriously) and I just typed that in a rush whilst gobbing a very large pizza!! LOL One * or twenty *'s would suffice! EVERY ONE!!! Rest assured the announcement will be made as soon as it is legally possible. Kieran was seriously multi-tasking last night and had 3 phones on the go at one stage, whilst sounding cool and calm when talking to me/us. I just wished I'd recorded some of the off-air bits....would have made a great "bloopers" CD!!!!!! Whilst one band has still to sign....another we did announce did not sign until about 20 mins before they were due on air. That's how fraught the evening was. When you are dealing with musicans sometimes deadlines don't have the desired effect! Anyway, thank you one and all for you comments throughout the evening and the nice e-mails since. If I am still alive come October...I am really looking forward to the gig! Steve

Re Gotthard The FF team WANTED Gotthard to play. Gotthard wanted to play. Unfortunately Gotthard's new UK based agency just weren't interested... and passed on the chance. i had it on a whisper that loud and clear were gonna play - what happened there then???

The Gotts would have been the dogs danglers for me!!! Ditto Why bother with supermarkets Sam? There's plenty of hotel lobbies in the vicinity you could grace with your presence ;D Or maybe a quick twirl in the Tap n Tumbler ;D LOL...you are encouraging me...hehehe!! ;D I have to say what you put here that T-man & Gotts were on your wish list...well if Talisman and Gotthard had been announced I certainly would be twirling in the Tap n Tumbler ;D I am very very curious to who the mystery band could be? xxx

[\quote] It's not a case of them not wanting the band to play at FF, it's a case of not wanting them to play it for the fee offered. Money is the key in this game as always. The agency clearly believe Gotthard deserve bigger gigs etc...but my personal feeling is this approach is misguided as I do not feel they have a HUGE uk fan base....more niche market. Interesting.... Do you think they are perhaps hoping to launch Gotthard as a more "Mainstream" act? I've always thought they had the potential to be popular with more than a "niche market" tbh. I know they don't have a huge following, but a lot of that is down to getting your songs on to the right playlists, or getting the right support slot isn't it?

Gotthard are on a small label (before anyone says Nuclear Blast are big...they may be a big metal label but up against the majors they are tiny) and I doubt they have the budgets to take them to the next level. However, there's bugger all money in the music business at the moment (or anywhere for that matter) so the majors will not be snapping them up You can't blame the agent..they are employed to get the best deal they can for their client.... just like any other agent in any other business. Yes, it would have been nice to see Gotthard again but that's life and I feel the FF team have put together a great line-up....even without the additional band. Steve

When will be hear the name of this mystery american band? tc I would assume as soon as they return the contract duly signed. The problem is alleged to be all the members are in various parts of the USA and it takes time for the bit of paper to go from one to the other. If not, the FF boys will work on Plan B and then Plan C

You can't blame the agent..they are employed to get the best deal they can for their client.... just like any other agent in any other business. OK now I'm *really* confused "their client" - being the person that employs them, therefore surely 'the band'? So this client/band employs an agent, who doesn't (allegedly) want them to play for such and such a fee - but the client *wants* to play? Sorry that makes no sense to me LOL ;D If you employ someone, they do what *you* say surely? 'I am the client, therefore I am the boss'. If I were any band who *wanted* to play somewhere but my agent whom *I* employ said 'no way', I would be swiftly giving them a large boot up the jacksy! Is this Clearchannel we're talking about? If so, none of this surprises me in the least And I don't think Alison is in any way questioning the fact that the FF team have put a great line up together, she's prob more puzzling the odd conundrum above, same as several people are I'd imagine. No one is lessening the achievements of the FF team - I can't even imagine the time and effort and stuff it must take to do all this, just little incidences like this make one curious. I don't *think* I'm being particularly thick but then again..... ;D In my industry, we are an agent and we act for our client, we can *advise* them of this and that, but that the end of the day what they say goes! I can only assume the music biz ain't like that for whatever reason. Now my head is spinning so I'm off to Asda ;D NB I'm going to FF anyway regardless of who is on

Well, quite, but as Janette indicated lower down this thread, I admit that I am somewhat puzzled by the concept of an agent dictating to a client! I implied no criticism of the FF team or the line up (Both of which are great), and you know me well enough to know that I won't be throwing my rattle out of my pram on this one!! I will be there whoever is on (Yes, even Chas and Dave or Margharita Pracatan!!)
