Rock Star...purely because the awesome Mili Matijevic from Steelheart does most of the vocals

It has to be Rock Star, closely followed by Almost Famous

There was quite a funny film with Jimmy Nail starring in it...can't remember the name. I remember sitting in the cinema (billy no mates) watching it with about 5 other people in there.

Still Crazy spooky I just got the soundtrack cd for that LOL Love the film, best bit is where Bill Nighy kicks his foot through the ice after falling in the river ;D

I like Almost Famous and Still Crazy, and I also liked Pink Floyd; The Wall and the Who's movie of Quadrophenia - these were the first films I went to see by myself at the pictures.
I plan to get The Boat That Rocked out on DVD eventually even if it did get so-so reviews - it can't be as bad as 'I'm Not There' which was the most pretentious thing I'd seen since 'Dogville'. 'I'm Not There' probably had meaning to Dylanologists and Uncut editors, but to other people it was a load of pointless images linked by other people doing Bob's songs. The 'Sings Dylan' programme on BBC-4 as part of the Folk America strand was better, even if the clip of Lulu and The Young Generation doing 'Mr. Tambourine Man' would have fitted into an episode of 'Room 101'!

Yeah, I wondered if it would be considered a "True" rock film, but it has many of the essential ingredients. Rock star meets unknown singer, they marry after a whirlwind courtship. Her career goes astronomical while he slips into decline aided by drugs/booze and then gets killed driving his sports car very fast.....and they all lived happily ever after!
