I've had a fanatastic weekend, lots of fun, laughs, good company, great music, lovely food even a bit of shopping -what more can a girl ask? ;D Great to see all the usual crowd: Liz and Nick (Who also kindly transported me ) Janette, Dean and his lady, Sam and Nigel, Claire, Lee and John, Lindsay, and apologies to anyone I've forgotten! A pleasure to meet Val, Tez, Allee, Debbie and Alan, (Although Debbie and I think our paths crossed in a former life!) and it was lovely to meet up with an old friend, (And fellow FM fan) Bruce, who I hadn't seen in over 20 years As someone who would gladly pay for a cd of "Steve Overland sings Nursery Rhymes" no need to ask what my high point was! I enjoyed H.E.A.T best of all on Friday and on Saturday thought Romeo's Daughter were great, but it was all good really :-) I really enjoyed the FM "Finale"I've always thought that some kind of "Jamming" tyoe thing would be a nice end to FF. I have to say though thatI think the slightly disturbing image of Dave Ling in a pink suit and Dolly Parton wig is one that will remain with me forever!! xx

;D Phew, just came home a minute ago! It was a true rockin weekend indeed! Friday's highlight for me was Eclipse, Bad Habit and H.E.A.T - the last mentioned was super! After their perform I had to run back to my hotelroom for shower and come back to see Treat, the whole place felt the HEAT! Bad Habit wasn't that familiar to me before the show but they did a great job! It was also great to compare Eclipse now to the first time I saw them at 2005 And H.E.A.T, what to say - they're gonna be superstars!! On saturday I missed Airrace and my friend told me afterwards that they were great so I was little disappointed that I didn't see them. But I came right on time to see The Poodles, liked the show very much. Missed Drive She Said also cause I had to get something to eat but I came back right in time. I mean, I'm in love with a Lady who calls herself Romeo's Daughter. To be honest, I'm one of those fools who had never heard of the band before, and I got into their songs just few weeks ago and when I saw them live.. - why on earth they did ever stop!? White Sister was good, guys of Crown Of Thorns were good performers and then we got to the point what makes me think my words very seriously. I haven't ever been actually a fan of Honeymoon Suite, but still I have loved their songs very much! And there I was, I was watching the band LIVE! I F*CKING SAW HONEYMOON SUITE and this is one of those things that just doesn't happen! When they started to play Love Changes Everything, I got totally wild. When I think about it now, theres a tear on my eye and smile on my face. This is just the thing I love, good rock music and the athmosphere that you just can't describe. If I could I would stop the time and stay there forever. And I truly mean it. The headline band FM, oh I loved it. Everybody knows my opinion of that band and it seems that I always repeat myself so I won't do it this time. I will give them all of my support anyway! During and after the Firefest I met so many lovely people, some of them was familiar friends, some of them was new ones. And I wanna thank every single one of them! Toni & Paul, Lidia, Bo, Annette, Ant & Lisa, Allee Martell, Lindsay, Nick & Liz, Tony Marshall, Steve Newman, Merv Goldsworthy (I'm sorry I didn't catch your adorable wife and have a chat - I hope I can do it someday), Jim Kirkpatrick, Steve Overland and Pete Jupp - you were so great and it's a always pleasure to meet you! But the very very special thanks goes to Steve Price who is always so helpful and kind. And Kieran, with all my heart, I can never be thankful enough for that work that you and the FF crew is doing every year. Sometimes I feel that a little volunteer in me rises its head and screams "do something!!". You always say that we are the ones to thank but I say that it's a hell of a lot easier to pay to get into a "already setted table" than actually do the work to make it happen. So, to every single one of the Firefest crew: I thank you, I love you and I'm gonna see you again next year. Melodic Rock is worth fighting for.

Best top 3 acts yet for Firefest and I knew so little about Crown of Thorns and Honeymoon Suite beforehand. FM were exquisite as ever - I really liked Jim's lead playing too. Romeo's Daughter and Airrace were my other enjoyed bands of the day.
Good to meet Dean, but couldn't find any other familiar faces from this board, except Steve Price.

Thanx to everyone involved for another good two days of rock! Friday was good but i couldn't get into it as normal. Im not sure if it was due to the long drive up of the venue. I found the venue very crowded, couldn't even see the one bar. Also the sound was mushy. Having said that I really enjoyed Eclipse, Heat and Treat. I think Treat had better sound as the volume seemed to lower when they came on and that helps hear each instrument. Couldn't get to the bar so we popped to our hotel opposite for a few drinks! Saw Lost Weekend in there shouting about various things! One irk...why do the soundboard guys have to push the volume up to such an excruciating level usually as the day progresses? The bands that sounded best just nudge the volumes down a tad and presto, everything is heard! Saturday was more like it. And it shows have vastly superior Rock City is. There is always space available, the que for the bars were easily tolerable and the sounds was vastly better. Airrace were very good! Best opening band in the history of FF? Quality songs and well played. The Poodles were fantastic! That is how to put on a show!! Entertainment and great songs performed really well! Follow that! Drive She Said sounded ok but we went to the Speakeasy pub where we got a few drinks at a reduced price! Great pub by the way! Romeos Daughter, again, ok but I was not really into them back in the day. Pizza Hut called and we missed White Sister. Saw them last year and they are a bit keyboardy for me. Crown of Thorns put on a good show! Played a lot from their huge debut plus a few others such as Motorcycle Lorreta and The Rain. JB's vocals were a tad lazy, missing the beginning words to the lyrics. But it was entertainment and all four members had huge smiles on their faces. Honeymoon Suit sounded great. Not really my bag, back in the day. But they are definatly listenable. Good summer feel-good music. FM. A good close to the proceedings. Not that dynamic but good music to chill to. Liked the Purple Rain cover, the guitar solo in that sounded spot on!! One thing I couldn't understand was why the security were stopping people leaving through the already open fire exit! I was told it was due to health and Safety reasons! And yet it was far more dangerous piling down a set of stairs with 500 other people! Thanx again to everyone concerned. My photos are up on the ARFM Facebook Group page. And I'm just sorting out snippets of video. www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&viewas=529149992&gid=42456557198Tc

Liz wasn't perched on her usual corner either. makes me sound like a budgerigar ;D I was on the other side of the stairs...cracking view and none of the usual 6'6" idiots who see a gap and then realise I'm stood there but stand in front anyway

Liz I think you need to take a serious bow for what you and Chanel pulled off! I was so happy to see our Mr Price get that warm welcome and gift.....he truly deserves that. Allee, I can't take all the credit. If you hadn't been so enthusiastic and tenacious in your wish to do something for Mr P, I'd have never come up with the idea
