Excellent new Detective / Sci-fi series firmly rooted in today.
Suddenly everyone in the world blacks out for 2 minutes, during this time some see glimpses of the future, how, why and what does it all mean?
Bought the book and it differs from this tv adaption, the concepts are the same but the characters, roles and locations are a little different different.
Worth catching up with this one.

I have recorded all the Flash Forwards but not watched any yet. True Blood I've watched the whole series on FX and I see it's being repeated on Chanel 4 - excellent stuff!

Utterly fantatsic series. Totally hooked on this one Also worth checking out is True Blood Watched 2 episodes of True Blood Lee. The background is that vampires have weaned themselves of their predatory consumption habits using a synthetic blood substitute. And now they want to integrate into society. For them it seems rather like giving up caffeine, alcohol or nicotine as they still crave the real thing! It centres around two characters a telepathic-barmaid called Sookie and a mysterious gentlemanly vampire called Bill Compton who build up a bond of trust. She has stopped dating because she was disillusioned with the thoughts of males (and we thought ladies always knew what we were thinking) LOL. She can't hear the vampire's thoughts, however his actions imply they are honourable. It is an interesting take on the vampire myth told through their relationship. Each episode reveals more, so far we have learned about the healing and sense-enhancing properties of a vampire's blood and also some of their vulnerability and powers. Once you peel away the filler-cartoon characters and insulate yourself from the awful Southern-drawl of the small-town population, it updates the issues of inequality, stereotyping and racial bigotry into the modern day format, i.e how come women have to wear sexy uniforms in the bar (err that's a tough one, could it be exploitation - shock horror?) and that all vampires are bad and should not be mixing with our women type issues. In other words not everything is black and white. It does have some humour but in a very forced predicatble way. There are some bloody scenes that look like the aftermath of a ketch-up fight in a McDonald's restaurant and there are some raunchy-scenes that vary from the ok to the uncomfortably disturbing; all designed to help the ratings no doubt. Will give it a couple more episodes to see if my stamina can put up with the accents and story-filler to focus on the more interesting stuff about the vampire-myth.

I haven't quite caught on to Flash Forward, but I have seen two episodes of True Blood.
I can't get on with the Southern accents either, as they remind me of Boomhauer from 'King Of The Hill'!
