I just saw this on YouTube after I'd seen lots of complaints from Beeb viewers and Digital Spy subscribers.
That is a low blow. Charlie Brooker also said on his Twitter page 'why don't they just smear s*** over the screen?'
I'm looking forward to an animated Stuart Maconie or Bob Harris walking across the screen during some crucial soap scene myself!

That reminds me - I sent an email to the digital channel "Viva" a few weeks ago - it went something like:
"Just thought I'd send you an email to congratulate you on your new animated series on Viva. Love the colourful "VIVA" logo that takes up the top left of the screen, and it's hilarious to have some of the South Park characters come wandering along the bottom of the screen every now and again, belching loudly, telling us they're the very next show.
One thing spoils it though - in the background you seem to have a show called "Two And A Half Men" that is in danger of taking centre stage. It's really distracting, so if you can do something about it, I'd be really grateful!"
Now that's sarcasm....!

Good man! I think Viva are treating viewers like children, in particular with Two & A Half Men. They don't even give me a chance to freeze the credits on Chuck Lorre's vanity card message at the end, unlike Comedy Central do and E4 do with Big Bang Theory!
The Dr. Who interruption was discussed further on 'You Have Been Watching' - Rufus Hound also said the Five (and Fiver) channel was equally annoying. During the very serious 'Saving Private Ryan' they had a strapline for Justin Lee Collins's 'Heads Or Tails' series towards the end.
He added, 'it's a good job they weren't showing Sophie's Choice'!
