I got this on DVD recently and really enjoyed it! I'm biased because it's Andy Serkis portraying Ian Dury.
The story is that on his way to success, Dury was never much of a family man with his children, bringing home a new girlfriend while still very much married to his first wife (shades of Peter Sellers).
When success finally hit, Dury got rid of his musical director, Chaz Jankel, and went downhill shortly after. He also had difficulties in relations with his teenage son, Baxter - the scene where he rings the boy's headmistress up and calls her a 'stupid cow' makes me think of times when I expected my sister to do the same to some of the people at my niece's school!
I've also had the song 'Spasticus Autisticus' stuck in my head after the scene where Dury loses it with a phone-in host after he's been told they can only play the song after 9 pm on air, and he goes off on one about how disabled people are patronised by campaigns such as that year's Year Of The Disabled.
I had my own moment of being patronised by a local presenter or two during the week it was right to promote volunteers, so I understand!
