This is a belated review as my mum and I watched this after she'd come out of hospital.
It tells of the comedian's family struggles to get him into a nursing home as he gets worse with Alzheimer's. The daughter-in-law was amenable to his forgetfulness and accidents, but the daughter was a BITCH! She was the antithesis of George Lamb and Claudia Winkleman, wanting to be known for herself rather than being a child of a famous parent.
His home help had quit and his PR stepped in for her. It was so sad watching him trying to remember names of his grandchildren when shown pictures. You wonder how Rick Wakeman coped with him in this state, with him being a fellow Isle of Man resident at the time. They finally got him into a home there as he didn't want to be on the mainland.
I understood the problems - a neighbour of ours has just been diagnosed and her daughter stays with her now.
