This is the second volume of Michael Palin's diaries and these deal with his attempts to crack the Hollywood movie market with Time Bandits and A Private Function, as well as with his more successful work in his own right presenting travel documentaries on TV. I loved his comment that the then in progress Time Bandits should have been titled 'Terry Gilliam's Greed' on the hoardings; substitute the name of my possibly ex-boss and you'll find what I think of her failure to pay me of late. Denis O'Brien, the movie producer who worked on the above, comes in for a lot of stick in regard to his rubbish suggestions for casting - Gilda Radner was a suggestion for an old lady role which eventually went to Katherine Helmond.
