I've been watching the predictions for a few days now and this could be nasty, perhaps the worst for twenty years. Until 7 years ago I lived 100 yards from the coast near Clacton on Sea and trust me I would not want to be there over the next 24 hours. Throw a sicky tomorrow, don't go to work!

I was hoping the gales would blow my house into a better area, alas we're still here....

I don't know if it was because we're more inland, but it wasn't half as bad as I was expecting. I was imagining people flying down the street Mary Poppins style, and trees being flung to the four corners, but it was just a bit blowy and it rained for a bit. I feel cheated

Nothing of note happened here either, apart from a small section of our front fence blowing over, but it hangs on a wing and a prayer anyway! This morning we had bright sunshine and blue skies, until of course, my washing machine finished it's cycle and I was about to peg stuff out!

It seemed to be worse here on Monday night than during the day wind wise.Although the Tamar Bridge was closed to lorries and bikes today. Why do people insist on getting as close to the sea as possible in these conditions and then why do the television and papers show it? How no one was killed is beyond me.Then of course they show people surfing!!!! what is all that about?

There's another on the way set to cause problems overnight, morning peak transport tomorrow. Not as much rain but plenty of snow from Morcambe Bay upwards. Hey, this isn't unusual for this time of year. Remember the old saying about March, in like a lion, out like a lamb.
