I enjoyed many of the tracks I heard Paul then had to head even further north to attend Rotherham Rocks! I now have a better knowledge of what bands fit into the southern rock genre label, whilst also hearing some classic gems like early Genesis and Greenslade! That rascal Liz (and supreme being) told me to tune in and I shall do again now, when I can! Usually after doing the gardening!

Now we're in dire danger of being very philosophical here. By the way, the post room tells me there's a CD and T Shirt on the way to you.

Thanks for sending the promo CD and T-Shirt of Chain Lightning which arrived today and really cheered me up when I came in from work this evening! Hearing Don't Drink The Water brought back the memory of the interview you did and the story that inspired it - they certainly live life and have some amazing adventures! Great guitar work on this CD, highlights thus far are the gorgeous piano work and atmospheres on Ribbons In Her Hair. Then the song It's Always Somethin' with that funky intro and those warm hammond washes, with a nice n' easy groove that whisks you along with it. I also enjoy Hot Night In A Cold Town which again shows that this band has certainly got some talented musicians in it, imaginative rock with enough variety that it can't fail to impress even a prog-head like me! Also love the atmosphere build up and guitar-work on (The Ascension )But, my favourite so far has to be the stunning You Just Wanna Rock. It really is a gem of a track and one I will be playing in the car as I head up the motorway to a gig. It has shades of Deep Purple and well, hand me that air-guitar quick, my hair is growing back! Chain Lightning's music certainly suits the summer, well, when the sun is out and the evenings are warm! Keep Rockin'

Wow Paul..... Greenslade.... I wouldn't have known you'd played them until Boatman told me at Rotherham Rocks. As he has requested that you play Bedside Manners are extra with JY singing (bet you never knew he was the second keyboardist and singer now!) I will try and get you a copy as soon as I can. I never knew Greenslade at all until JY joined in 2000, but now they are one of my favourite bands, they are awesome live. To see the keyboard interplay between Dave Greenslade and JY is so incredible My most memorable moment at a Greenslade gig is when during Joie de Vivre, the Boatman bought me a drink and had to tap me on the shoulders several times before I responded, I was so "lost" in the music, truly amazing stuff!!

I was privileged to see Greenslade at The Roundhouse in Chalk Farm here in London in the Tony Reeves / Martin Brierley era just before they closed and after donkey's years decided to renovate the theatre. A FABULOUS band.
Glad Boatman got his Chain Lightning CD & T Shirt okay and is RAVING about it. They are a terrific band and deserve a major contract.
The winners in Europe will get their copies in the next day or two. Enjoy.
