Hello Paul, Ralph & Tea Lady! Listening to the show this morning (Thursday) here in rainy Devon! Great to hear it opening with my fave Greenslade track from the 2001 live recording (which we attended with you), featuring John Young and of course Dave Greenslade.

Brill show again matey! Pictorial Wand is very interesting, some 'magical' moments in there, I see from their website that it is a double CD. [glow=navy,2,300] P u r e R e a s o n R e v o l u t i o n[/glow] Great to hear Jon Courtney from Pure Reason Revolution telling us how they are writing, recording and doing well. Hints at some new material maybe being 'darker, intense, heavier...' hope they still maintain some of their gorgeous dreamy, melodic moments in the mix too. I was equally pleased and amazed to find their records not only in our local independent record store but also in HMV! Not very often one of my fave bands gets that kind of distribution! [glow=silveryellow,2,300]Mostly Autumn [/glow] Nice to hear them on the show, been a while, (were their CDs 'caught in a fold' of your CD drawers ) also be great to hear the track Candle sometime in the future! And tbe nice to hear some tracks from the ladies spin-off project Odin DragonFly when they have some material out! [glow=red,2,300]Darwin's Radio [/glow]Just get better on each listen, and I was amazed to see they are formed from the embers of a band that I used to see a lot of at Rotherham Grey Lady Down a phoenix moment indeed! Musically they seem to be in the IQ, Kino, melodic Dream Theater zone, with some Tony Bank's keyboard moments, whilst vocally Neal Morse (ex Spock's Beard) comes to mind. Still raining but looks like ARfm has brought a brief ray of sunshine to us, at least metaphorically!

Hi Boatman, I managed to abduct the Darwins Radio CD from PP after last weeks show and have been playing it all week and like you say it does get better with each play. Couldn't agree more with your choice of likeness's I would just add It Bites to the list. Did you catch the Genesis moment in Erase Rewind, It had both myself and PP humming along as per the original (Ripples if my memoery serves me right). I look forward to seeing this truly superb band live.
Promise to return said CD before Sundays show
Also looking forward to John Hackett on Sat night.
All the best Ralph

Hi Boatman, ... Darwins Radio CD ... Did you catch the Genesis moment in Erase Rewind, It had both myself and PP humming along as per the original (Ripples if my memory serves me right). I look forward to seeing this truly superb band live. Also looking forward to John Hackett on Sat night. All the best Ralph Yep agreed Ralph, definitely some Genesis like Ripples from the progrock pool making their way into that Darwin's Radio track! (It Bites are a band we like too). The support for the John Hackett band on Saturday are of course Psi Phi who are a trio, and the guitar playing (Pod) is superb. Bit of a Rush influence and some very clever lyrics. See you, PP the Tea Lady and the Soundscapes club at Sheffield Saturday; we may pop into the Wetherspoons for a cheese-burger and a pint before the gig, it's just across the road from the venue. Heading up from Devon tomorrow, hope the rain doesn't follow us, although the Devon Tourist Board might be hoping different!
