Brilliant.
I was born during the Moore years (View to a Kill technically is my first chronological Bond) but Dalton remains my favourite. I haven't read the books but reckon his portrayal is the most realistic, License to Kill (1989) being my favourite. Revenge plots are always good.
Couldn't quite visually accept Craig as Bond (probably the blond hair) at first but his acting was fantastic throughout and the storyline was brilliant.
I am never one to hop on the hype bandwagon but this is a definite must watch for all Bond fans, if you've never seen one then know that my Amanda gave it the thumbs up and Casino Royale was her first Bond film ever.

Moore was blondish! Been a fan of Daniel Craig since the superb Layer Cake. I knew he'd pull it off. There's a edginess about this new Bond and all the camp stuff and gadgets have been left behind. Let's face it, the character is essentially a government hit man.

I haven't had a chance to see it yet, but I really want to! No chance this week either as too busy, but as soon as I get a min, I'll be there! Pierce Brosnan is my fave Bond, followed by Sean Connery, so I'll be interested to see how Daniel Craig gets on (I only remember him from Moll Flanders LOL) Everyone I know who's seen the film says it's brilliant, so I'm looking forward to it

Haven't seen it yet but I'm sure Daniel Craig is brilliant. ;D I remember him playing Geordie in Our Friends In The North some years ago and he's a fantastic actor -hails from these parts too! (Well Wirral to be precise but it was Cheshire before it was Merseyside! )

*Finally* got around to seeing this today (can't believe it's taken me so long, I normally see the Bond films the day they come out ) Anyway, bloody brilliant! ;D *So* much more violent than usual, which I love ;D Even the first 5 mins had a spectacular fight scene - I was in heaven ROFL Daniel Craig IMHO makes a great Bond - at no time at all was I thinking "oh so and so was better" - he seemed to fit right into it. Much less emphasis on the cars, gadgets and bedding the babes, more good stunts and fights - marvellous!

Lee, it's worth seeing but if you're a little squeamish, avert your eyes from the Nutcracker Suite sequence!!!

I enjoyed the film. It was more down to earth and made a refreshing change; less gadgets and more use of human wits and training. Bond is portrayed as a much harder, more believable character and there is still plenty of action and tension to make it compelling to watch. It was of course Bond on his first mission, so a difficult film to make and one where the audience has to remind themselves that this is taking place 'before' all the rest of the films we've seen happened! What it lacked in glamour and gadgets it made up for in empathising with the character, definitely worth watching! I hope he goes on to do more. Oh, and ditto Paul C's comments too!
