Arena, Valley of the Kings (Live)What a great opener! How about A Crack In The Ice next week - the track I mean! Panic Room, End Game (Speed of Life) Anne-Marie Helder rock on! My fave track by them! Treebeard, Far Over Misty Mountains The Haze rock-folk spin-off is always music to my ears! Unifaun, Rehacksis (oh dear ) Ephrat, The Show interesting stuff, still trying to assimilate them and I don't mean in a cyberman way! Haze, Mountain Colin Mold, Prayer & Shelter Ah good stuff what are Kara up to these days Please play some more Presto Ballet as their new album frustratingly isn't out until September!! And I love what you've played thus far!

Unifaun, Rehacksis (oh dear ) I'm glad it's not just me! What is it with me and bands that start with the letter 'u', I wonder? Still, I quite like Underworld and Todd Rundgren's Utopia so it's clearly not that simple.

Will see if 'Crack in the Ice' fits with the music in a couple of weeks time! As for Unifaun, Oh I don't know, if you ignore the 'Genesis' sales pitch, the music is pretty good, maybe too many Genesis references but..... Ephrat are stunning. Will have to play the 18 minute epic again! Will slot in some more Presto Ballet as soon as time allows! Toodle Pip. Paul

Unifaun, Rehacksis (oh dear ) I'm glad it's not just me! Well it would appear that you 'two' may be in a minority! But... I've taken the plunge and asked a bunch of extremely dedicated Genesis fans for their opinion on Unifaun. If I'm slow to respond to emails etc, it is because I've moved to the specially constructed bomb shelter at the bottom of my garden for a while! Ta ta. Paul

Paul Oh, I've noticed that I'm in the minority on this one, which is why it's good to find that it's not a minority of one! I'm glad that so many people are finding that Unifaun scratches their G(enesis)-spot but sadly it comes nowhere near to reaching mine.

I tend to agree... From the limited tracks I've heard on the bands MySpace page...the vocalist sound is too "Phil Collins Wannabe" for my taste and the music is no where near as full, solid or strong as Genesis... A bit like my old school reports...good effort...but could do better...

And then there were three? DOH! Trust the Boatman but put his 'oar' in! ;D Some would say we're being a little childish, so does that make this a Nursery Cryme? I don't want to Trespass on your good nature in any way really. Goes to show that music has different and Invisible Touch on all of us! Could say that we're 'in too deep' with this debate! Suppose we should really continue to 'Duke' it out on this 'ere forum. Might be a while before I reach for the album and 'turn it on again' for your aural listening pleasure! And picking up on Shane's comment, it could be that the 'guide vocal' is going down a bit of a 'cul-de-sac'! Right I'll get me coat.... Wonder if the same debate will rage about Willowglass? ;D Ta ta. Paul

Keep playing Unifaun mate, it is only banter from your most rebellious listeners! Now then, Willowglass are instrumental and there are many influences including Camel amongst the Phillips, Hackett and Banks! [glow=green,2,300]WILLOWGLASS, Book of Hours [/glow]This new instrumental album by multi-instrumentalist Andrew Marshall includes gorgeous mellotron-washes, lush Ant Phillips style 12-string, some electric guitar Hacketing away plus dreamy flutes. I pressed 'play' and was taken on an audio-journey through English pastoral scenes, signs invited me to Trespass in mysterious forests where Camel grazed in Greensladed shadows. A nymph danced with her Sunny Wakeman and from the Tony Banks of a pool, I saw reflections of Gandalf, a Geese and a Ghost (sic)! Instantly likeable, calming and imaginative; it's music to re-charge the mental-batteries. The CD cover and pages are beautifully illustrated by Lee Gaskins. Okay ProgPaul, I have been giving this band a proper listen as I have now got their CD, I locked myself in my room so I couldn't escape! I confess ReHacksis did sound much, much better on re-listening to it (is that the sound of Boatman munching his words made more palatable with lashings of tomato sauce?) I've narrowed it down to the fact that I find them much better as instrumentalists than vocalists. For example the instrumental passages on Quest For The Last Virtues are quite pleasant. It just sounds too much like copying in places without the essential flow, it seems a bit stuck together in places, (rather like my comments). So yes there is some merit in this Swedish duo's work, I reckon the missus would enjoy ReHacksis . Right I'll go and stand in the naughty corner with the other two now.... by the way have you seen my anorak? I think I must have left it on a previous "post"!

I refuse to eat my words – I don't wish to spoil my appetite, after all my supper's ready. Besides, I know what I like... I don't think it's gonna get better. Any responses or is this a case of no reply at all? More fool me perhaps?
