LOUD AND CLEAR ........LOUDER THAN EVER
September 6th 2009
Possibly one of the best kept secrets in the melodic rock world, L.A’s Loud & Clear have been plying their trade in their native U.S.A. since the late eighties. The darlings of the world famous Sunset Strip, Loud & Clear have played countless sold out shows to adoring fans and generated the type of hype normally associated with the mega-selling bands of the genre. Hollywood Rocks Magazine had this to say about the band: "The platinum potential of this band is exceedingly obvious" ... "The kind of songs that are instantly, and forever memorable" ... "Singer Jess Harnell is blessed with the kind of voice that simply melts you, with the stage instincts to carry LOUD & CLEAR to the top, no question about it. I've never heard anyone like him" ... "one of the finest (not to mention biggest-drawing) bands in LA" ... "Guitarist Chuck Duran matches flash with feel. There aren't many six stringers that can touch this guy". BAM magazine are equally glowing in their praise of Loud & Clear: "The local popularity of LOUD & CLEAR was very CLEAR. The Roxy was packed to capacity and there were a lot of people screaming their heads off throughout the set" ... "Fans would rush the stage and drop to their knees while hearing lead singer Jess Harnell soar through 'You Take Me Higher', then wag their fists along to 'Ain't Talkin''Bout Nothin.'”
Powerplay’s Rob Evans, after witnessing the very show contained on ‘Louder Than Ever’: “I think I can safely say that was one of the best performances at a Firefest EVER!”, and Fireworks’ Paul Jerome Smith was equally full of praise stating “Loud & Clear played an absolutely storming set, had great fun in doing so and got the crowd eating out of their hands...”
Loud & Clear have played literally thousands of shows in the course of their career, but for European fans this has been the only opportunity to witness the sheer power and grace of this truly talented group of musicians strutting their considerable stuff away from the comforts of their home turf, and yet end up like the homecoming heroes, gaining an army of new fans and offering the opportunity to those already in the know to say “I told you so”.
LOUDER THAN EVER comes as a double digi-pac package, disc 1 is the dvd portion containing three complete live performances, as well as some bonus features, and disc 2 is an audio cd containing the live Firefest 5 performance as well as a slew of bonus tracks.
Contained on the extended DVD portion is the complete Loud & Clear performance at FIREFEST 5 , including the now legendary merging of Journey and Metallica in ‘Don’t Stop The Sandman’, during which it could completely and utterly be said that the band convinced the 1500 in attendance that they had witnessed something very special indeed. The guys have also dug out some old archive footage from back in the day and that includes 2 complete shows recorded in Hollywood in 1990, the first time any of this footage has been seen outside of the band. Also included is a bonus feature called ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ from 1988.
Now, as if three full shows is not enough, the audio cd portion of the package contains not only the Louder Than Ever live audio, but the guys have once again dug into the vault and come up with 6 previously unreleased tracks, some of which defy logic as to why they never made it onto an official release. Also included is an advert for Camaro cars which ran in the USA back in the day (and a storming little ditty it is too!) and Jess Harnell’s version of ‘The Twelve Days Of Christmas’. As you may be already aware, Jess is a highly sought after voice actor in Hollywood and lists many movies amongst his considerable resume. For those of you that may have watched ‘Finding Nemo’ with the kids or grandkids, Jess is already familiar to you as the voice of the crazy seagull. Recorded at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, ‘The Twelve Days Of Christmas’ must be heard to be believed. It was a nationally syndicated broadcast that showcased the incredible voice talents of Jess Harnell, listen out in particular for Rain Man!
Once again LOUDER THAN EVER will be a limited edition of 1000 copies worldwide (available in both PAL and NTSC region free), it will not be reprinted or re-released and each copy is numbered.
