I know lots of folks have been askign after this info and where refunds are etc...
Sadly I don't have a lot of info yet either, despite trying to reach out to Mark seeing that this board was one of the main avenues to advertise this gig.
It seems the event is 100% CANCELLED in ANY form as far as the Rockfest name goes and none of the bands intend to play.
What will happen on the day is down to a few bands getting together themselves in trying to deliver an event for those travellign to see something.
The issue of refunds is still COMPLETELY up in the air. I have heard of folks that know mark who have been trying to reach him to get action on that front - but to no avail whatsoever. I wish I had better news.
The facts are that Mark Owen's Metalfest show was poorly organized and eneded up being a disaster and lost a wad of money. Rockfest was heading the same way before the plug was pulled and Mark has disappeared.
It is my understanding that he is in a bad shape personally - this is indeed unfortunate - but it isn't goign to get any better while 200 or so dedicated rock music fans are hunting for their hard earnt cash to be handed back.
Mark - if you do read this - I am happy to help you address the issues of refunds, and that is the ONLY thing that you should be concentrating on.
Any updates - I'll pas them on.
Best Regards, Andrew.

Total disgrace , i have a hotel booked and have payed for 2 tickets .This kind of fraudulent ,fuck you attitude is going to stop a lot of people buying advance tickets for events in the future thus endangering our all ready fragile Aor/ Melodic community . You can say a lot about Alger but he has always put on some kind of show band pull outs or not ....Mark Owen's reputation is now in tatters and I 'm not gonna shed a tear.

Just received this
Dear, S Jefferies! I am very sorry but as you may have gathered Rockfest 2009 which was scheduled to take place on Saturday 21st November has been cancelled. The line up was originally changed due to poor ticket sales, and we wanted to still provide an event for those wanting to attend, but the interest was not there and we have decided to cancel the event. The events of the last month or so have taken its toll, and I can only apologise for those trying to contact me here at Rockfest but whether it be stress, anxiety, or whatever I have been quite seriously ill, and my personal life has been turned upside down. We will be working through the refunds over the next week, we just have to sort out a few issues, BUT we will be sorting these out and getting everything straight as soon as we possibly can. Once again, all I can do is apologise for all of this...we tried to put on an event with a great line up, but it backfired, and we are now counting the costs of that.... yours, .

Rockfest update. Having more of an insight into how much Mark Owen had taken on recently, I suspected this and suggested it in posts only to be knocked back. Email from Rockfest received last night.....

So, yes Mark cocked this up badly, made himself very ill (I'm sure many would have ended up the same way in such a position) and is now trying to answer everyone and arrange refunds - and still he gets abuse on MR.com.
Dante Fox, Tara's Secret and Kinn will still play at JBs on the 21st Nov if the venue confirms it today. We've asked that those with Rockfest tickets or receipts from Paypal can come in for free and perhaps £5 on the door for others. We're not the 3 bands everyone paid £40 for, but this is also helping out the venue which needed to replace a "good earner" at very short notice. We promise a damn good show and that UK bands certainly can rock.

I to have received said email and although regret the severity of my previous post still maintain the sentiments , this could have been handled a whole lot better , and i will be a lot happier when said refunds are actually in my hands.
