Following on from last month's announcement of Scandinavian tour dates for this Autumn, Iron Maiden have now confirmed details of a comprehensive UK tour set to take place in December. The full list of confirmed dates are:
Dec 11th - Cardiff NIA Dec 12th - Birmingham NEC Dec 14th - Manchester Arena Dec 15th - Glasgow SECC Dec 17th - Newcastle Arena Dec 18th - Sheffield Arena Dec 20th - Dublin The Point Dec 22nd - London Earls Court
The new live show will include new album material which the band are now recording and which will be released prior to the tour. They are currently considering album artwork and the Production for the tour, which of course will be in true Maiden tradition with spectacular stage production and massive sound and lights ... and, of course, Eddie!!
Says Steve Harris, 'We've finished most of the writing of the album and have just started recording with Kevin Shirley so we're all very charged up at the moment to make a great record. Reaction to the tour so far has been brilliant and we're looking forward to putting a great show together for the fans and getting back out on the road towards the end of the year and playing new material live '
Maiden have invited the critically acclaimed American band TRIVIUM to be their Special Guests throughout the tour. Trivium have enjoyed ever increasing recognition these last few months and Maiden are sure that their fans will give them a great reception.
Tickets for the tour go on sale on March 17th at 9.00am

Oh what to do what to do....... Love Iron Maiden, can't stand Trivium! Saw IM at Hammy in September, and at Earls Court a couple of years ago, and both gigs were fantastic. I know my youngest son and my daughter would love to go to this gig - argh! I'll see. Eldest son will no doubt be going anyway cos he likes Trivium too LOL *sigh* Dilemmarama!

ZZzzzzzzz.... another tour by the great money making rip-off machine. Maiden are one of a few bands left that are a working class band, who make music for the working class, listen to by the working class and enjoyed by the working class. I will buy the new album and i will go to the gig and i will enjoy every second of it. Up the Irons

might go to the Manchester date. I heard last year they weren't going to be touring properly again, only festivals.

standard procedure - all the MOR tix I ordered carried a £4.50 booking fee per ticket - its a rip off. ticket agencies are fleecing the general public and getting away with it. Its nothing short of legalised robbery. I know they have to make some kind of profit, but a more realistic fee would be £2.00 per ticket. If these people are sole agents for concerts, then that's gonna make one hell of profit for them with every show thats announced. Milton Keynes Bowl will probably have about 50,000 people there, multiply that by £4.50 a head - the agents stand to make a whopping £225,000 out of that one show. Add all the shows that Maiden are doing on their UK tour plus every other act touring and this company is probably making a very conservatively estimated £20m a year off us concert goers.
And another thing that annoys me - ticket touts are prohibited from operating outside venues and are breaking the law - so why is it then that they openly approach the concert goers to buy and sell tickets in full view of the venue staff AND police and yet nobody says a word to them?
