Do we know this for sure? Could he not have "wandered off" in pursuit of a lady badger perhaps? Having said that it isn't badger mating season....maybe he's gone away for a few days for an Easter break? Did he get hungry and go off to find an unsuspecting hedgehog?

nope sadly some lowlife has nicked him. He was on a speaker some 7ft above ground level and at some point just before the end of the night he was stolen. As soon as we realised he was gone, Tim to his credit, immediately stopped the music and called an end to the night. All the regulars are absolutely furious. Brough isnt a big place and we can only hope that he is returned but if I ever find out who took him, they'll wish they were never born cos I will tear them limb from limb. Right now I'm angry as hell, and feeling awful cos he belongs to Liz who had kindly loaned him to me. Badger is a mascot for Hull Rockers Website, he attends all the rock shindigs in the Hull area. He has been to concerts, has his own section on the Hull Rockers website, his own myspace page, and is a guest album reviewer on yet another rock site. For all that he is only a cuddly toy, it is the principle of the thing. If he isnt returned we can only hope that he has been given to a child and is given lots of love and cuddles. It would be awful if he just discarded in some ditch by the thief. Right now, I have to try and find a replacement and if he does come back - at least we'll then have 2 badgers.

update - The pub owners and staff are making enquiries with everyone who goes in the pub. I've got a letter that my folks are going to hand in to the reception of Radio Humberside tomorrow appealling to their listeners in the Brough area to help us find him and notify us of his whereabouts if they either see someone with him or know who has him. Or if they find him outside anywhere to hand him in to the Ferry Inn staff who will then contact the DJ (Tim)so he can collect him. In the meantime - Badger's big brother is on his way to Hull and he's looking to spill blood in his quest to find his famous little brother.
We have never objected to people handling young badger - he is afterall very cute and cuddly. All we ever ask is that he is returned to us before the end of the evening's entertainment.

this is a copy of a letter being sent to local radio station - BBC Radio Humberside. STOLEN On Saturday Night, somebody stole our mascot Badger from the Ferry Inn in Brough. We would like to enlist the help of the listeners of Radio Humberside, especially those resident in the Brough area, to assist us in our search for him. He is a stuffed toy badger wearing sunglasses (though they may have since been removed from him). Our badger is the mascot for our website - www.hullrockers.co.uk. It may sound silly putting out an appeal for his safe return, being that he is just a cuddly toy, but he has become a very popular part of the activities of our site members. We have taken him to concerts, rock clubs etc, and he has become something of a cult legend in the Hull rock community. Such is the little fluffy chap's fame, that we created a myspace.com webpage for him, just for fun, and his popularity increased rapidly to such an extent that his friends list now includes many well known rock bands and even celebrities such as William Shatner. He has been a vital component of increasing our website's success and helping to swell our growing membership numbers. Not only that, but he has helped put Hull and it's rock community on the International fan's web scene. He is effectively synonymous with our site and all of our members activities. If anyone knows of his whereabouts or if they find him in a hedgerow, dustbin etc in the Brough area, could they please contact the landlord of the Ferry Inn and he will notify the resident rock dj (and longstanding member of our website) who will go and collect him. Could you please keep reading this plea out at regular intervals during your broadcasts for the next few days. We are desperate to get him back. One of our members who lives in Brough is looking at putting together some wanted posters to display all around the village, such is the sense of total loss we are all feeling. If he is retrieved we will of course notify you immediately of his safe return. Many thanks All the members of the Hullrockers website.
