................... til you saw 'em live?
Recent discussions on the board got me sort of thinking (and that's fairly rare ;D) about bands I didn't think I particularly like, until I saw 'em live and changed me tune!
Main examples I can think of for me are:
a) Skid Row. Really wasn't fussed altho my niece was into 'em big time, but then I saw them support GnR in 1991 at Wembley and was completely blown away! I had gone to the gig with a completely open mind as she insisted I'd love them, and she was right! Then saw them at Docklands in November 91 and they were absolutely amazing.
b) Iron Maiden. Was convinced I didn't like them cos they were too 'heavy' for me. Anyway, was persuaded to go to see 'em at Earls Court in Dec 2003 and again, thought they were great!
Just goes to show.............
I know someone who completely thought The Darkness were a waste of space until they went to see them live, then they were converted.
Anyone else with erm.............anyone else?
(I'm sure I must have more but it's late so I need to think LOL)

Two bands spring to mind, Status Quo & Meatloaf. Seen them both at the Antrim Forum back in the early 80's (seperate gigs of course) though they both played together at Ravenhill rugby ground in Belfast May 05 sorry i'm rambling. Anyway, was never keen on either band until i seen them live, have to say both were f***in amazing, specially the Quo,that was just one big party from start to finish, good times ;D ;D ;D
