Peter Gabriel wrote some hilarious lyrics! Extract: The Battle Of Epping Forest - GenesisIt all began when I went on a tour, hoping to find some furniture. I followed a sign - it said "Beautiful Chest". It led to a lady who showed me her best. She was taken by surprise when I quickly closed my eyes. So she rang the bell, and quick as hell Bob the Nob came out on his job to see what the trouble was. ;D

[glow=red,2,300]Albatross[/glow] ( Nautical but nice – not arf music lovers!) Conjures up memories of those ‘last dance’ moments, the rainbow disco-lights swirl across the dry-ice, a red light pulses to the heartbeat of the song as you and the special person in your life, slow-dance like you were the only two in the hall. The music and your own heartbeats do the talking… And it doesn’t require a lot of skill, even if you’ve both been enjoying the drinks and rockin’ all night, try hard not to fall over, as it kind of ruins the magic and you'll get lost in all that dry-ice... Phone rings... excuse me folks... Oh, I've been asked to include inflatable sheep and well-trained air-guitars so that no one feels left out..... err that's it..... Reaction to this post... **!! *##@@ oops...

inflatable sheep are important to the whole ambience. Exactly! Boatman smiles happily and then sees Nick's reply! (D'oh! I've been "nicked" icon ). (Boatman stares at the window for inspiration, and it looks back at him, kind of embarrassed)... Right... got it... I must have been thinking of "fave guitar licks!" Er-go on, let me off just this once guvnor cos it's a great tune... I remember at rock gigs in the late 70s people used to shout out Albatross and Wally - strange times.... but great fun! (tries to change subject then considers starting a new thread of favourite instrumentals where the music does the talking... (and sneaking one in with lyrics!) ;D

extracts from: [glow=red,2,300] BALLROOM BLITZ by THE SWEET [/glow] Are you ready, steve? Aha. Andy? Yeah! Mick? Ok. Alright, fellas, let's goand.... Oh, I see a man at the back As a matter of fact his eyes are red as the sun And a girl in the corner let no one ignore her 'cause she thinks she's the passionate one
Oh, yeah, it was like lightning, everybody was frightening And the music was soothing, and they all started grooving
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah And the man at the back said Everyone attack and it turned into a ballroom blitz These were the days when I used to watch TOTP!

'Some people are like gravy, spilled on God's Sunday shirt...' (Neal Morse, 'Waste Away'). I imagine the Almighty with a big piece of kitchen roll tucked into his shirt!
