I must admit to liking this.
I thought it was going to be crap but it is so 70's it's fantastic.
I can't believe that us men were so sexist back then... maybe I can. It just goes to show how things have changed in 30 years.

Yep, watching this, tho thought it was running out of steam a bit last night, until that flippin' freaky girl from the testcard turned up again!! Yep, Liz, I don't like her one bit either.... very clever though. Sound track is pretty damn good as well...with a couple of notable exceptions.. (quickly back tracks from any pink and fluffy pop that may have been included type icon!)... Crime plots a bit 'see through' but think they are meant to be, the real fun is the time travel or not type stuff... Sexism? What was that then... Tea Lady won't stand for any dirty type talk tha knows... Anybody notice the 80's style prefab building in the 'bag of guns' scene last night..? OK, I'll get my coat.... nice quilted green one today... Prog Paul

Well, Paul does let me in his kitchen occasionally ;D
As for life on Mars, I am really enjoying it. I think they have got the authentic 70's atmosphere just right. It has made me realise that life really flowed by at a normal speed then not the stressful pace we have to keep up with today.
How do you think it will end? Do you really believe he's in a coma as we've been led to assume?

So you can't tell the Tea Lady that a womans' place is in the kitchen then...... ?? Well in truth, NO! But.. of course you'll find the Tea Lady in the kitchen at the ARFM Birmingham Studio whenever I've got guests in, bless her. So I suppose when at home it is my turn... (But not always, before she says anything!) Prog Paul

[glow=orange,2,300]L I F E O N M A R S[/glow] www.bbc.co.uk/drama/lifeonmars/Life On Mars was the best thing the BBC have done for years and we have to wait a year for the next series! I struggled to start with but once I had accepted the concept of the time-travel, I really did enjoy the humour drama and pace of the shows. It is a kind SciFi meets Sweeney meets Heartbeat for those that grew up in the mid 70s when Ballroom Blitz, Cum On Feel The Noize, Caroline and Can The Can were in the charts. It is a thoughful cultural and historic study of the time as well as being a darn good entertaining drama. It makes you cringe or laugh with embarrassment at the behaviour that was the norm back then, you sometimes forget how much change there has been. Each character is really believable with depth, my favourites are Gene Hunt and WPC Annie Cartright I don't think this series would appeal to anyone who wasn't around in the mid-70s though. Be interesting how they do a second series, I don't think they expected it to be so popular!
