Whether you like Stephen King or not is irrelevant with this amazingly imaginative series.
It is not about ghosts and horror, this is a proper intelligent drama with subtle sci-fi shades.
Johnny Smith formerly a school teacher, survives a near fatal car crash. After a 7 year coma finds that his childhood sweetheart has married another man and all his reference points are out of date, the world has moved on.
He discovers he has a new-found psychic ability to see into the past and the future which makes him very useful to the local detectives in solving crimes. It also causes him moral dilemmas in how he uses those powers for good. A curse rather than a gift in many ways.
It also attracts a lot of unwanted attention to this very private individual.
Based on the original Stephen King novel and film of the same name, this series explores hero Johnny Smith's psychic powers further and takes the story into a whole new world of plots and counter plots, whist allowing us to sympathise and empathise with the hero as he faces up to the choices he has to make, with the cards fate and destiny have dealt him. It is sexy, exciting, thought-provoking, romantic, heart-breaking, and has humour! Can't recommend this show highly enough. Well worth investing in Series 1 box set if you've not seen it.
There are about 4 series and a 5th being made I believe.
