I read this especially for Monty Python's time as a recording act on Charisma Records! He says Charisma was a pretty cool label to be on at the time, but Tony Stratton-Smith, the manager, didn't always pay them on time.
Tony Smith (eventual Genesis manager) is also mentioned as organising their touring and spots on several festivals.

That reminds me Pickle, Me and Steph were watching the Ripping Yarns DVD last weekend (Michael Palin/Terry Jones), excellent stuff, hasn't dated at all!

Palin does mention how Ripping Yarns came to be commissioned in the book - 'Tompkinson's Schooldays' was first intended as a one-off, after he was in 'Three Men In A Boat' with Tim Curry and Stephen Moore (pre-Marvin in 'Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy'!).
