Went to see this the other day, was really looking forward to seeing it after seeing some very promising trailers. Its a really good film, not the greatest film ever by far but throughly enjoyable, the special effects are top notch, well worth going to see may be more of a blokes film though. Woody

www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZm52UrkDpAyou can check the trailer on Youtube, I've also got it on my Myspace page, Its based around a battle, i can't remember exactly when it was meant to have taken place, think roman times, and its about a large Persian army invading Europe and when going through Greece they are stopped by 300 Spartans which gives the Greek nations to unite and stop the invasion. Its Visually very stunning, the action sequences are amazing. Like i say may be more of blokes film, think elements of Braveheart & The Alamo. The trailer will make it more appealing ha ha Woody

I saw this last night - thought it was great - loads of severed heads flying thru the air with blood spurting out - marvellous ;D Never heard of any of the actors in it, but it was a good action film - I knew I'd like it when I saw the trailer at another film recently I liked the special effects, ie in the battle scenes they slowed down some of the action so the severed heads (I seem to be a bit obsessed by them at the mo ;D ) kind of hovered in mid air for a bit, and the spearing thru of peeps was cool too. Bit surprised at the '15' certificate, as there were a few boobies in it (well fried eggs really ;D ;D ;D). I've never seen so many finely honed six packs tho!! Wonder if they stated that on the audition thingy? "Only people with fantastic six packs need apply" ;D (And Woody, I ain't a bloke and I loved it ;D) Here's the official synopsis: "300" is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller's acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale. Director: Zack Snyder Starring: Gerard Butler Lena Headey David Wenham Dominic West Vincent Regan Michael Fassbender

Glad you enjoyed the film too! I was surprised it was only a 15 cause before i went to see it I'd heard it was meant to be quite bloody, but i don't think it was that bad hence the low certificate and the nudity wasn't overly graphic, but still i think it should have probably been an 18, but correct me if I'm wrong but their is No swearing in the film at all? maybe this contributed to the certificate been lower? No their was no Big Stars in the film, Gerard Butler (King Leonidas) is a Scottish actor he played The Phantom in The Phantom of the opera (Not seen it, but i think this is the film hes most famous for) he had good roles in Timeline, Reign of Fire & Tomb Raider : Cradle of Life and he's in a film based on the Beowulf Legend which i want to see he plays Beowulf. Lena Headey (The Queen) is a British actress and shes been around for a while, and has been in lots of British TV programs early in her career film wise shes was in Gossip, The Parole Officer ( with Steve "Alan Partridge" Coogan), Ripley's Game, The Brothers Grimm & The Cave! O and shes really FIT! ha ha ;D David Wenham (Dilios/ The Storyteller) is probably most famous for been FARAMIR in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, he was also in Van Helsing. As far as the dudes six packs are concerned its amazing what they can do with computer special effects nowadays Real men have 12 packs hahahaha Woody

You seem to be a bit obsessed with fitties luv ;D Me, it's severed heads and skewered bodies, but you, it's fitties, are you weird or sommat? ;D ROFL You mean the six packs weren't real? I thought it was a bit odd there were so many in the film LOL Not into Lord of the Rings *at all* but thought that guy looked familiar, now I know it was from Van Helsing. I'd have never realised that King Leonidas was the dude in Tomb Raider! I love the Tomb Raider films! Mind you, being observant isn't one of my strongest qualities ;D
