Had a bit of a 'stuff I've recorded lately but not had time to watch day' today......
Anyone else catch the James Nesbitt thing 'Jekyll' last week? I watched it, a lot of it made me laugh, but I can't decide what I actually thought of it. I know it's on again tonight so I'd best make sure I record it!

I think he's great in most things he does, I quite liked it but the violent scenes were a bit graphic for me!

I watched D&P for the first time the other night, and was very impressed. And I agree with you Janette....very gruesome in places!! Another plus...........it's got the young lady in it who used to be a barmaid from the pub in Coronation Street. And very easy on the eye she is too

It was the bit where a guy attacks him in a back street and he turns on him. I didn't like the crunching sound when the guy was on the floor and he jumped twice on his chest! Of course, the Jekyll and Hyde story is bound to have violent elements in it, but I always was a sensitive soul ! ;D (No I didn't see D&P!)

Me and Nick watched the first two episodes of Jekyll yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed them. I`m not too sure where its going though, but it will be interesting to find out. ;D Got the second part of D&P to watch at some point. Although I have to say that the earlier ones, which were actually based on Reg Hill's novels, are much better IMHO.

D & P = Dalziel & Pascoe I think Warren Clarke is *superb* as Dalziel, his dry humour has me in stitches ;D (I also liked him in that 'Gone to the Dogs' thing years ago). My kids on the other hand think it's dull and boring Can't all like the same things can we? Jekyll still has me interested, so we'll see what Saturday brings.

Of course, the Jekyll and Hyde story is bound to have violent elements in it, but I always was a sensitive soul ! ;D (No I didn't see D&P!) I own an original copy of Jekyll & Hyde, it's even signed by RLS himself. It's interesting to see that even so many years on to when this book was written that a TV/Drama adaptation of the book still sparks that sort of wincing and shutting your eyes tight at the bad bits. Of course what Stephenson was trying to show us when he wrote the book is that everyone has an alter ego, and at the time the book was written most Victorians tarred people with Psychiatric problems as all being sub-human, and anything that deviated from the Victorian Norm would throw a person into this category. I believe William Gladstone (primeminister) caused concern, because he would walk the streets at night frequenting houses of ill repute etc...there is still discussion on why he felt it necessary to do this, and at the time everyone thought he had fallen into the jekyll & hyde category. I haven't watched the Jamie Nesbitt production, but what I have seen in clips looks very powerful. No doubt it will probably come out on DVD or be repeated in which case I will have to see it from the beginning. It's also nice to see what could have been a period drama, has been presented as a modern day production instead.

Has everyone been keeping up with this?
I didn't think I'd enjoy it but i caught half of 2 weeks ago episode and became intrigued, its really weird but i think that leads to the charm of the program. Nesbiit is fantastic as the hilarious Mr Hyde! I watched last weeks full episode and now i can't wait for the last episode, Wish i had given it a chance from the start. Its weird and confusing at times but it is entertaining, hope a few of the questions are answered in the last episode and were not left in limbo!
