dunno weather this has ever been mentioned on here before?
Just been checking the release date of the 3rd series box set! thought I'd come and mention it!
This in my opinion is one of the greatest TV programs ever! The acting is top notch, compelling story lines and interesting characters. Ian McShane is an absolute revelation as Al Swearengen who is probably the most compelling character of all, although he is technically the bad guy of the piece or is he?
I was gutted when this got canceled after the 3rd season, it was meant to last 6 seasons (which was how long Deadwood existed in real life!) and I've heard rumblings to 2 feature length episodes will be made to wrap up the story as the creator intended, I'll not hold me breath mind!
If you can catch a repeat, or rent this i highly recommend you do! I don't want to mention its a western as this normally puts people off, but if your thinking Bonanza or Wagon Train your in for a big shock, if your easily offended language wise I'd avoid this! This is a modern gritty realistic historical portrait of Gold Rush era America!

I watched the first series of Deadwood and I really enjoyed it, but after that I kept forgetting it was on! [thicko blonde icon] If I see it repeated, I'll try and catch it again. I love Westerns! Pale Rider, Hang 'em High, High Plains Drifter, can't beat a good old Clint western ;D (the only one I don't like him in is Outlaw Josey Wales, cos he keeps spitting and it makes me wanna vom )

If you liked the first season you'll definitely enjoy the others, great show, sky normally repeat things to death so you might be able to catch it, i do advise you watch the episodes in order mind!
I like westerns to, my favourite film is the the John Ford/John Wayne western "The Searchers" great film! Clint's westerns are cool more gritty and action based, High plains drifter is class but a bit weird! his best film probably Unforgiven! but I've got a spot for the Sergio Leone ones "A Fistful of Dollars", "For A Few Dollars More" and "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly" and the music of Ennio Morricone is magnificent and adds a great edge to the films!
