This looks like its gonna be an incredible film, been looking forward to this for a while! Its out on the 14th September! In Arizona in the late 1800's, infamous outlaw Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) and his vicious gang of thieves and murderers have plagued the Southern Railroad. When Wade is captured, Civil War veteran Dan Evans (Christian Bale), struggling to survive on his drought-plagued ranch, volunteers to deliver him alive to the "3:10 to Yuma", a train that will take the killer to trial. On the trail, Evans and Wade, each from very different worlds, begin to earn each other’s respect. But with Wade’s outfit on their trail – and dangers at every turn – the mission soon becomes a violent, impossible journey toward each man's destiny. The trailer is pretty cool....this is gonna be a cracker www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeroJ1BK6GQWoody

saw this the other night cracking film. Highly recommended!
One of the best things about this film is the shades of grey shown within in the characters. Christain Bale is great at playing tortured / flawed heroes. One of the Good Guys is probably a worse person than the "Main" bad guy. But justifies his crimes / murders through Religion & The Law. Some great dialogue within in the film. Great use of music within in the film at times reminiscent of Morricone but probably has more in common with the soundtrack to recent western tv show Deadwood. Their is a gritty realism to this film as it chucks idealism and morality out the window in its extreme forms and looks at morality in a more realistic way. Bales character is a desperate man his farm is on the verge of been repossessed, his marriage is on the rocks, his youngest son has TB & his eldest thinks hes useless & a coward. and only takes on the role of escorting Crowe to The 3.10 to Yuma for $200 which is a quick fix in trying to keep his poop together! When his wife trys to stop him from going as Crowes gang of merciless killers are set to free him he gives a great line which sums up a desperate man who needs to DO something as he tells her "I'm sick of the way my sons look at me & the way you don't!". Obviously as the film progresses you see that Bale does have morals and it isn't just about money, but its shown in a realistic way in shades of grey as opposed to your either good or your bad! The film builds to a very explosive and emotional climax. They don't make em like this very often (sigh)
