Anyone remember the cop comedy series Sledgehammer? The catch-phrase being "Trust Me I Know What I'm Doing?" I had forgotten just how funny it was, a parody of films like Dirty Harry etc. Thoroughly recommend people check out the DVD of Sledgehammer series 1 and 2. Information, film clips and episode lists are on the official site below: www.sledgehammeronline.com/menu.htm

Ah yes, I remember Sledge! Funny stuff, but I don't think it was ever repeated. Remember the episode where he went undercover in Amish country? Great send up of "Witness" that... Yeah that one was great! I think my favourite laugh out loud episode was "The Colour of Hammer" where he plays pool and the ever suffering Captain Trunk keeps being in the wrong place at the wrong time when the ball leaves the table! The comedy timing is perfect and you really believe this guy talks to his gun! The opening episode where he takes out the sniper on the roof-top, by simply demolishing the entire building is also good. Clever parody of Hitchcock and other famous films is an added delight. The good thing about the DVD is that they have removed the canned-laughter that I always hated. If its funny it shouldn't need auto-suggested laughter prompts. Thanks for replying, you really should treat yourself to the DVD(s) for Xmas. A real tonic after a bad day, bad week or bad year!
