I was told, I bloody missed it Uncle Bob & Mark Stanway were on Central News last night, promoting a charity auction event at the Robin in Bilston. Its to help riase money for Magnums ex - drummer whose name i can't remember at the moment (its one of those days!) who has cancer and the NHS won't pay for that new drug so its costing him a fortune. Did anyone see it?

Thanks Liz i'll check that out, I didn't think to do that! I've just watched it Woody. It's heartbreaking to think that your quality of life depends on a postcode!

I've just watched it too Liz! I'm absolutley disgusted , how can they justify this! I know the drug isn't freely available but i thought who got it was judged case by case not by where you live! so that means an 80 year old can get it with the right postcode but an 18 year can't because of the wrong one its madness and really worrying!

I live in the Yorkshire area, but I get the impression that it's a similar story as with when Tony Wilson was being treated for cancer and the Manchester NHS couldn't afford Sutent - so the people he'd worked with through Factory Records raised the money themselves.
My eldest sister was treated at Christie's Hospital there also.
