H.e.a.t - H.e.a.t (2008) out now!!! Boy have i been waiting for this one. Ever since i heard their 4 track demo a while back i new these guys were special. On first play i knew this was well worth the wait. The album starts with a short intro which leads into "There For You" and it's hooks and melodies and layered harmonies galore, gr8 uptempo opener, awesome. What follows is 11 more tracks of the same awesome aor. The trio of "Never Let Go", "Late Night Lady"and "Keep On Dreaming" follow, all of which are on their demo and Steve has played.Next up is "Follow Me" which starts with a nice piano piece and vocal and you think you're in for a nice ballad (ala Journey) then bam the guitars kick in and what follows is one awesome power ballad."Straight For Your Heart" follows and is aor bliss all the way, i love the chorus on this track. "Cry" is up next and was one of my fave tracks on the demo, the melodies on this are sublime, love it. Next up is "Feel It Again" and is a fantastic melodic rocker, reminds me of someone but can't pin point it. "Straight Up" follows with it's pumping bass line which reminded me of Alanah Myles "Black Velvet, onle difference being this is far superior in every way, again another gr8 chorus. The following track "Bring The Stars" is awesome, gr8 hook and chorus, love it and is a star track. The following tracks "You're Lying" and "Feel The Heat" brings Europe to mind and also brings this album to a close. The production on this album is superb, it lets you here the demo tracks aswell as the rest of the album the way they were meant to be heard. Credit to the band, Dave Dalone - guitars Eric Rivers - guitars Jona Tee - Keys Jimmy Jay - bass Crash - drums who are as tight as a ducks arse, and play superbly, and have this nailed down tight. A very special mention has to go to vocalist Kenny Leckermo, man can this guy wail, his vocal work on this album is stunning. It fits this music perfectly and i can safely say this guy is now one of my fave singers. So, what we have here is one stunning (debut) album from these guys. AOR perfection from track 1 thru 13 and not one bad track or filler to be found, this has to be a contender for album of the year. Just wish i was going to SRF so i could see them live. Just a pity Firefest aint gonna be on in 2009, cause if i was KD i would have these guys there in a heartbeat. Oh, BTW, did i mention that this is a stunning album ;D If you like AOR do yourself a favour and buy this album, it's out now so get it ordered and enjoy the AOR ride of your life
