Line-up:
Bad Habit - Exponents of the finest melodic rock, Bad Habit blasted out of Sweden on CBS records back in 1987 with the release of Young and Innocent, a six track EP which gained the band massive airplay in their native country. 1989 saw the band switch labels to Virgin, and the release of the classic After Hours record from which three singles were culled for radio. 1995 saw the release of the monstrous Revolution. Loaded to the brim with classic slick radio and dance floor friendly anthems such as Sad but True , Hunger and the massive power ballad Too Late. 1998's Adult Orientation saw the band move in a more mature direction, whilst the current album Hear Say sees the band stay true to it's melodic roots with a powerful blend of classic AOR and heavier riffs. Bad Habit did tour the UK once back in 1989, but this will be the first time playing on these shores since then. Interestingly enough despite the different musical trends making it difficult for bands such as Bad Habit to continue the band members are still together and we are very much looking forward to having Hal, Jamie, Sven, Bax and Patrick rock the house on October 27. www.badhabitvip.com.
Bombay Black - Jim, Bob, Erik and Ty all hail from Little Rock Arkansas. Not exactly the home of hard rock, but despite not coming from one of the more instantly recognisable cities of the USA, Little Rock has been kind to Bombay Black, opening for many national touring acts such as Firehouse, Slaughter and LA Guns to name a few. Bombay are no strangers to the big stage, having played major festivals such as Milwaukee Summerfest amongst others and most recently they started spreading the word in Spain when the played Nemelrock. Drawing musical influences from bands such as Ozzy, Pantera, Crue and Kiss, Bombay Black play a brand of powerful hard rock as anybody who has heard either the Mercy or Anger Management albums can attest to. Anger Management has taken the band to a new level of popularity in both the USA and abroad, we are delighted to have the boys playing on Oct 27. www.bombayblackmusic.com.
Newman - Steve Newman has been fighting for years for the recognition he justly deserves. Newman have bucked trends in recent years by staying true to extremely well played and well delivered AOR. No, no excuses here, Newman are an AOR band par excellence. Steve is a career artist , having spent the last ten years as part of the Escape Music roster. Albums such as Sign of the Times gained Steve critical acclaim, but with the new album Heaven Knows, Newman are drawing both commercial and critical acclaim. Rock Report Belgium had the following to say about Heaven Knows “With this fifth release, Steve Newman confirms his status as one of the UK's best AOR artists ever.” www.melodicrock.com had the following to say about Heaven Knows “these are the best songs to make a Newman record yet” and “it's a very fine example of classic style 80's influenced British melodic rock, and the most consistent album to date” Proof of the pudding is it scored a 93% review from the site as well. This will be Steve's first outing with Newman in many years, his last one being at The Gods in November 1999. Definitely one not to be missed! www.newmansound.com.
Alibi - Fronted by the mercurial Vince O Regan (Bob Catley, Pulse) Alibi are just about to release their debut album on Escape Music. Misdemeanours will see Vince team up with former Double Cross vocalist Rick Chase on an album stuffed with glorious British melodic rock. Taking a natural step forward from Pulse, the album calls to mind Bad Company and Giant and will no doubt prove to be one of the British albums of the year. Alibi have not been touring consistently, but will take the stage on October 27 ready and able to rock the house. We are delighted once again to have yet another quality British act on the bill and they will definitely one NOT to be missed! www.alibimusic.net.
We are particularly delighted to be able to include two top quality British acts for this years party, your hosts, Mr. Dave Reynolds & Mr. Steve Price also have a few surprises up their sleeves for the pre-show and we have a few very cool prizes to give away.
Bombay Black are delighted to have the chance to play the UK and are really looking forward to it. Bad Habit, well what can we say? Class band by anybody's standards, it's quite a coup for us to have them finally play the UK again, and Hal Marabel and the boys cannot wait for the day. Frankly speaking….neither can we.
We hope to see you all in Nottingham for the weekend of October 27 and 28. It is definitely one party not to be missed!!
