Hi Bruce, Do you have any of these really rare LPs (I lost mine years ago) of early instrumental synth music (before the mid 80s New Age boom....) ?
Duncan Mackay - Visa (1980) (keyboard player who played with Steve Harley, Kate Bush, Alan Parsons Project, Camel, and 10CC)
"Close Encounters of the Third Kind" by the National Phiharmonic Orchestra and Systems Music. This was one of those cheap soundtrack albums for those (like me) that couldn't afford the real John Williams score. Forget Side 1 (that was all 'Close Encounters'), but on Side 2, there were 4 excellent synth tracks by "Systems Music" (they were session players, one of whom went on to have hits in the 80s with some synthpop band). They were, "Sky Ride", "P.O.B.734", "Orion", and "Aeromancy". They were excellent! If you haven't got it, I'd definitely keep an eye out on eBay to see if a copy turns up there (no good for me - no turntable anymore, you see!)

Thanks for reminding me of this, my friend. To answer your question first, I don't have the albums you've mentioned. But you've brought back to mind LPs I had many years ago, a bit similar to the ones you mentioned. You could guarantee a version of "Blade Runner", "Chariots Of Fire" and "Oxygene". Either original or cover versions. But, you're correct in saying that, now and again, there are some gems. Thanks for reminding me of a time I'd forgotten about:))) BG ;D
