will be a celebration of '70s British hard & progressive rock, plus classic southern rock from the same era. Every track recorded and released between 1970 and 1979 and every one a classic. My only problem was to fit everything within the three hours without some casualties. So, if your particular favourite isn't included this weekend, tell me and I'll make sure it's played on the next seventies extravaganza. The all-Brit classic rock lined up for this Saturday includes: Babe Ruth, Family, Pink Floyd, Curved Air, Tyla Gang, Uriah Heep, Bad Company, Sassafras, Nazareth, Stone The Crows, Free, Black Sabbath, Lone Star, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Jethro Tull, Broken Home, Trapeze (in memory of Mel Galley), The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Be Bop Deluxe, Atomic Rooster, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and a live classic from Humble Pie. Plus classic Southern from Winters Brothers Band, Blackfoot, Wet Willie, Elvin Bishop, Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Outlaws, Marshall Tucker Band, .38 Special & Lynyrd Skynyrd. I won't be playing the playlisted radio 'standards' either so there'll be a few surprises... pleasant ones I hope. The text number and email addy won't be working until The Greasy Spoon Breakfast Show next morning as the programme is being pre-recorded as I type. Typical me arranged for April and me to be elsewhere thinking July 12th was this coming Sunday... DOH! If you're young enough to remember these classics, I hope you enjoy listening to them again. PC The Saturday Soccer Solution, 15:00 to 18:00 every Saturday ONLY on ARfm.
