gonna go against the grain here and state, i can't stand that Kid Rock song, i'd much rather listen to skynyrd's sweet home alabama..................It peeves me that gimmicky songs appeal to joe public, when i first heard Rockstar on the nickelback album 2 years+ ago i didn't mind it but didn't think much of it other than its a bit of fun........but it sickens me that it goes number 1! over such brilliant songs like "Far Away" which i think is possibly the GREATEST Nickelback song ever.......yeah even better than "How You remind Me".........mumble mumble moan moan......

Woody I'm with Woody on this one. Seems to me he's neither "Kid" nor "Rock"; and his lyric would be poor even without comparison to Warren Zevon's. A stinker.

Woody That's why ARfm listeners have discerning taste and choose not to tune into national stations. But then if members of 'Joe Public' like the music and want to hear more... isn't that to our advantage? Fair doo's to Kid Rock though and I unashamedly borrowed bits from Wiki P: On September 10, 2005 Lynyrd Skynyrd performed without Johnny Van Zant at the Music Relief Concert for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, with Kid Rock standing in for Johnny while he had surgery on his vocal cords to have a polyp removed. Lynyrd Skynyrd are co-headlining with Kid Rock from August 8th 2008 as part of the Rock N Rebels Tour. They will also join him on Good Morning America on August 22,2008, most likely performing Kid Rock's single "All Summer Long" which as we know contains the guitar chords of "Sweet Home Alabama".
