Hi All, this year I missed the show due to credit crunch, but I have to admit my dislike for the venue also was a factor, unfortunately as Steve says there just isn't another decent venue centrally ... :-(

So, unless someone can come up with a perfect venue, situated in (more or less) the centre of the country that hold 1200-1500 people + good hotel facilities nearby, I can see no alternative to NRC. This is my personal opinion and not that of FF or ARfm. Steve Don't know about perfect but it's certainly in the middle of the country, capacity of 1200 - 1500, good hotel facility, excellent shopping amenities for the ladies, loads of great pubs for the gents, this city has something for everyone, have I sold it to you yet Steve? Glasgow's Carling Academy, price, haven't got a clue, I'll leave that for you to checkout lol

To be honest, at face value, I like Rock City - there's not many other venues where there are so many points in the room where you have a perfect view of the stage. I know the stairs cause a lot of bother for accessibility but in most bog-standard 'room' venues, you stand a few people back and you can't see (or I can't, I'm a short-arse haha!), so the millions of stairs do have their advantages too

Blimey, I dunno why people moan. Have you ever been to London's Astoria?
I have an affection for Nottingham now, and thats thanks to Firefest.

The Arsetoria is the worst venue in living history IMHO! ;D I've missed loads of bands cos I simply refuse to set foot in the place anymore. Thought it was supposed to be closing? To keep on topic re Firefest, I always thought Brighton was situated quite centrally.............. ;D
