SYNOPSIS
Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (Judi Dench) interrogate Mr White (Jesper Christensen) who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined. Forensic intelligence links an Mi6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (Olga Kurylenko), a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a ruthless businessman and major force within the mysterious organisation. On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world's most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (Joaquin Cosio). Using his associates in the organisation, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country, thereby giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land. In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene's sinister plan and stop his organisation.

Hmmmm. Well for me, Bond films are all about fantasy and escapism; amazing cars that look fabulous and do things that other cars don't, exotic locations, gadgets (don't like *too* many tho LOL ;D), and stunningly beautiful and glamorous women, and of course superb special effects. This film in that respect, was a bit of a disappointment IMHO Not many exotic locations - Bolivia , cars were dead boring, all 4 x 4/Jeep type of affairs apart from a few minutes of Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo at the very beginning, not really any funky gadgets to write home about, the women were attractive yes but not the stunning glamourpusses with the 'wow' factor that you come to expect (altho Woody will like one of 'em as she's a ginge ;D and possibly even a tomato hater ;D), special effects were ok but nothing breathtaking. I kept waiting for the film to get going, and then it ended sort of thing. Don't get me wrong, it was ok as an action film, but it wasn't really my expectation of a how a 'Bond film' should be. I know what I mean but prob not explaining it very well LOL ;D Daniel Craig was a good Bond, but I'd have like more glamour and pizzazz, (or however you spell that ) and more violence ;D
No doubt I'll get the DVD as always, but I've come away feeling rather deflated instead of 'OMG that was so brilliant'. But that's just *my* opinion, others may think it's great
Out of 10? 5 with possibly a 6 at most. Wah.
