It was good to meet Ben and Amanda on Sunday at the Birmingham studio.
I'd not met Ben before but he's a great guy - even if he let Simon switch CDs on him in the middle of show! He should know better...
But we had a good time and a great laugh. Good luck to you Ben in the future, and I hope to see you soon...

Good to meet you too Nigel, best of luck with your forthcoming projects and many thanks for your kind words. I'm sure our paths will cross soon. Bananaman, Batman, Spiderman, Superman.... ....all of these people were named after their source of strength or caricature. Let's not forget Duffman, Radioactive Man and Canyouhaveyourticketsreadyforinspection Man. Therefore, Boatman must be a boat shaped entity...probably the one that looks at me funny as I spend my working day eating Italian Ice Cream on the South Bank. "Play Bullet the Blue Sky" it says in a gruff, echoey voice...well I say 'says', really it's the sound of a foghorn but it depends how you read it I suppose. Boatman, Boatman, he's a hell of a vessel Fuelled by the river but afraid of the pretzel! <mega drum crash> [glow=red,2,300]BOATMAN! [/glow] Paul Chamberlain and his magic flying bus shelter, now that's a forgotten kid's cartoon if ever I invented one. [glow=red,2,300]Super Steve Price and the Lava Lamps from Hell[/glow] [glow=red,2,300]Ben Fletcher and The Mouth that Could Lose a Thousand Listeners[/glow] What the hell is in my coffee this morning.....

Alison, The Boatman writes an article for Rock Society which is the magazine for the Classic Rock Society. This is called "Rockin the Boat" hence the reason why Paul named him Boatman!! You see if you all subscribed to Rock Society not only would you get discounted tickets for the fantastic CRS gigs, you'd also be able to read Boatman's wonderful musings about rock in the media ;D

I want some of whatever was in Ben's coffee please...oh as long as it's not sugar...bleugggghhhh!!! Yep, totally agree there Alison, I can't stand sugar in tea or coffee! In fact I think if I tasted sugar in my tea I'd change into a traffic cone or something... It is on par with Janette's aversion to mad emu's and eye jewellery... (and we won't go there again)...
