I have no idea why...but we have had a couple of films sent to us recently for review. I was about to return them saying that we don't review films... then thought better of it (silly boy!)
Hotel For Dogs - Good kids comedy...but they would appreciate it more if they are under 10 years old!! Typical Disney stuff
New In Town - Rene Zellweger in a fairly typical RomCom about a woman executive sent to close a factory in deepest Minnesota (in the winter). When she arrives at the plant she discovers the Union Rep is a hateful man etc etc....needless to say, they don't hate each other by the end. Funny to a degree...but a bit of a ZZzzzzzzz. Not even good enough to be described as a chicflick!

Re: Hotel For Dogs. One of the people I help on the 'Green For Go' project at Groundwork said she wanted to see this. I don't think it was going to challenge Benjamin Button (and does anyone else think that's going to be a movie about Iron Maiden's 'the Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg'?) or Kate Winslet's stripfest 'The Reader' for Oscar success. My niece went to see 'Bolt' this week and enjoyed that!
New in Town seems to be a victim of bad scheduling - yeah, sure people are going to flock in droves to see Renee Zellweger in a film about someone closing a factory down! I bet the ex-staff of Zavvi and Woolworths and Barrett shoes would really appreciate that, I don't think.
