Had the album a couple of days now and have to say I'm well impressed! Its a little harder and darker edged than i was expecting, but its a great melodic rock album, with a nod back to the sound of the melodic rock bands of the mid-eighties! Output from Kivel Records lately has been of a really high standard and Ty Sims does another great job producing / engineering the album. I hope the Seven Dayz album turns out as good as this! I think the album is a good mix of AOR tunes like "Love Won't Wait" & " Out Of Reach", the latter has a killer chorus and is currently my favourite song! , Moody mid paced rockers like "Fine Line" , "Have It All" , "Kick Me Down" & "Same Mistake" and anthemic sing-along melodic rock tunes in "Talk To Me" & "Those Were The Days"! Although I'm not a Jim Steinman / Meatloaf fan , the cover of "Nowhere Fast" is probably the most instant / catchiest song on the album, the band do a good job of making it their own! also the solitary ballad on the album "Heaven" whilst not been anywhere near as instant is a great little ballad a definite grower! Highlights of the album for me are "Out Of Reach" , "Have It All" , "Love Won't Wait" and their excellent cover of Hush's "Talk To Me"! the only track that lets it down for me is "She's Crazy", BUT on the whole this is a solid melodic rock album and well recommended! www.myspace.com/farcrytherockband Woody
