www.cbc.ca/arts/music/story/2009/07/20/steve-perry.htmlIn this recent article about the status of Journey's Don't Stop Believin' as a touchstone of rock music, there is a hidden back story....they casually mention that Steve Perry is working on a solo album in Los Angeles. To this melodic rock fan....that is THE story!!

I was just saying that the message board is a bit quiet at the moment and when I look again this news has appeared! A quick Google seems to confirm that an album is expected or at least rumoured.
Love Journey with Steve Perry; love his solo album Street Talk; and like the man said, "Rock and roll is good-time music - listen to it!".

I'll be so interested to hear how Steve's voice is doing these days....you know he had changed quite a bit by the time they recorded Trial by Fire but I still loved that album!

Yes, I suppose you're right - Steve Perry's voice probably won't be soaring quite as high as it did 25 years ago (like you say, it had already changed on Trial By Fire), but I'm sure there'll be plenty left. Anyway, I love the way he sings (like the Sam Cooke eye-ee-eyes) as well as the sound of his voice, and if he's got some good songs too... Now I'm getting excited again!
