Hi All, Just a quick report from the AD Music Festival. In two words, "simply marvelous". A great venue, well organised, great sound, amazing artists and a good sized crowd! Code Indigo, resplendent with new line up, got things off to a great start, older favorites sounding slightly different mixed in with newer material was simply fantastic. Two guitars at times, bass as well, added a huge extra dimension to the overall sound without detracting from the 'Code Indigo' experience. Next up was Ron Boots (pronounced Boats as Ashley reminded us all!) & Friends. Live drums and guitar again. I had a chance to talk to Ron and he'll tell you all about the interaction/relationship he has with this on Soundscapes very soon. The music was stunning, no other way to describe it. Powerful, intricate, gentle and then powerful, lots of heart and feeling, totally blew everyone away. We'd sat in our seats just before 2pm, there was a short break in between acts, but the time flew by.. the Tea Lady remarking, "Is it a quarter to six already?" I was lucky enough to meet Uriel (from Israel) and Ron Boots in the extended break, both of these interviews soon on Soundscapes. The evening entrainment was equally as wonderful, Ian Boddy, Klaus Hoffman-Hoock and David Wright combining for tunes from all three artists back catalogs and some amazing improvisation. Klaus had the new 'mellotron' a 'memotron' on show.. the sounds were amazing and had rather a strange effect on Ashley! Also an amazing guitar with more effects and sounds and extra gizmo's on, creating sounds the like of which I've not heard before! Ralph & Dave Hewitt of GLOW, would have loved it! I would have liked to interview David Wright but the poor chap was totally exhausted, so we left, tired, happy and clutching the inevitable purchases from the merch stands! ;D A fantastic day, with a warm, friendly and appreciative audience, hats off to Dave & Elaine Wright for organising the day so well, also their back up team. Dave Massey & Co... Surreal moment of the day, being in the 'Green Room' after interviewing Ron Boots, with Dave Massey, Ron, Uriel and a couple of others, chatting about prog rock!! Simply marvelous! Fingers crossed for next year! Ta ta. Paul B
