I was listening to some old CDs the other week from my distant past and thought, "my god, that's a bit embarrassing to think I actually liked that." But then again, we all have a few albums like that. And, hell, I still like them ;-)) So here goes: BARRY MANILOW and THE BEE GEES (not Saturday Night Fever era, though. The more obscure ones). How embarrassing is that. Especially when you hear the music I play on "Sunday Synth." SynthBruce

My most embarassing albums....hmmm, well I have a couple by Il Divo....oh and two by Michael Buble.....and, (Possibly worst of all!) Michael Ball! ;D (In my defence, they were all presents.....but then I did ask for them LOL)

oh and two by Michael Buble Nowt embarrasing about owning Michael Bublé albums. The man is fantastic. My most embarrasing would have to be Belinda Carlisle, Madonna, 5 Star, Madness, Bad Manners etc etc. But, that's when I was a fan of their stuff. I don't own anything by them anymore....honest But saying that, some of the metal/rock/AOR stuff I own from way back is a bit embarrasing nowadays. Especially when you watch some of their vids on youtube

I agree with Lee.....I've been back over some of the albums I bought in the 80's and can only assume I was under the influence at the time. God, there is some crap amongst that vinyl!
As for strange albums, non Rock, I am not going there.......

Michael Buble ----OK; at least it wasn't James Blunt. I have Belinda Carlisle too and (it must have been left by one of my daughters!) i seem to have one by AQUA - beat that!
Oh and huge thanks to John Richards (Strange Brew) for playing "Real Love" by the Sutherland Brothers. A great band in their day, I love that track. never heard it on the radio before but i do have the original album it appeared on (and three more of theirs).

Never be embarrassed!
And never pay attention to music snobs.
NB. Just finished lecturing my 6 year old daughter on how rubbish Cheryl Cole is. No hypocrisy there, obviously.

Alison, my elder sister likes Michael Buble too! My mum likes Michael Ball, though I always think of him as the lead in 'Amadeus' for some reason - big hair and a high-pitched laugh!
Re:embarassing albums. My other sister and I had a Benny Hill album - the one with 'Ernie' and 'Ting-A-ling-A-loo' on! I can still remember parts of St. John Bossum's poem 'The soldier sat in the army jail...'

On reflection, I suppose I used to get a bit embarrassed about having an album that was a re-released version on one of those budget labels... what was that one called...was it "Fame"? Not having the original copy made me feel like a Johnny-Come-Lately (which I must have been) rather than a proper fan. I think my copy of Sunburst Finish by Be-Bop Deluxe is one of those Somebody once bought me a Top Of The Pops album for a birthday present. I remember it had a cover of Pretty Vacant on it. That was embarrassing.

Frehley, I was given the Top Of The Pops album with 'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' and 'Ben' on at Christmas 1972!
By the way, I'm convinced that Benny Hill used the line 'if I could do it all over again, I'd do it all over you' in the song 'Rachel', long before Caravan had the album of that name out!

Frehley, don't be embarrassed about lecturing your 6-year-old daughter on the evils of Cheryl Cole. My sister has already given a similar lecture to my 10-year-old niece about Miley Cyrus! But then, she did once ask me 'why does Peter Gabriel sound like he just swallowed an orange?' She'd read a story called '17 Oranges' in which a boy swallows them whole in a 'Cool Hand Luke' type of bet. The line I remember is 'Those oranges kept working inside me something shocking!'
