An excellent documentary on Roald Dahl's life and times - the writer's books for children was a small part of a very busy life! I also want to plug Radio 2's 'How Roald Dahl Shaped British Pop' - Kelly Jones of the Stereophonics was quoted as saying his parents let him stay up to watch Tales Of The Unexpected on a Sunday night. 'The Bartender & The Thief' was inspired by the series. Other interviewees included Kate Nash and Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes). Marilyn Manson's version of the rowing song from 'Charlie & The Chocolate Factory' was explained as MM imagining Willy Wonka as Satan, tempting people! A pity there was no room for Family Guy's parody of Pure Imagination as 'Pure Inebriation', or any references to Rob Leighton using 'We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams' as a slogan! Tim Minchin was also on the Wright Stuff last week promoting his musical based on 'Matilda'.
