Hi All, regarding FF2011 we have NOT decided if it will be a two or three dayevent. Do we have possibilities...yes, but we do not have a definitive 3 day line up. As I stare a the 500th sheet of paper with yes, no, maybe, should be, might move that band, change these guys, maybe they could do Saturday etc. we haven't decided exactly what we will do. We have plenty of acts willing to play, some interested and one or two extortionists (that we have kindly told to fuck off and get real!!)
Someone posted below that we KNOW what we are doing, in fact it's the opposite...we don't. What people MUST realise is FIREFEST costs close on £100,000 to put on a 3 day event. Scary isn't it? In harder economic times that any of us have seen for a while we are trying our utmost to make it affordable for anyone intending to attend. At the same time we are trying to put together a great line up for you . Always easier said than done I can tell you. I guess we'll make a decison in the next week or ten days as we complete conversations with various bands and managers and we take a look at what we have on hand and make a decison on what to do. The one thing I will say is FF 2011 SHOULD feature at least 10 bands that have not played Firefest previously .....and of course the usual Van Halen, Whitesnake, Mr Big requests are being ignored ...unless of course someone out there can step up with some sponsorship that we DESPERATLEY NEED...and have done for the last 7 years....in which case it gives us the financial clout we need to bring in some of the big guns
More news as we have it, but for now that's about it..............Cheers
Kieran
