Fantastic news Paul!
We saw Tony Patterson with ReGenesis at the Boardwalk Sheffield last year and we are really looking forward to the John Hackett band gigs. So, any more news on the tour dates and line ups would be of great interest. As well as news on his own new material.
Checking Out Of London, John Hackett band was my number one album of 2005! Thank you for playing great music on ARfm - pity other radio stations weren't as good at getting new quality rock albums aired.

Enjoyed hearing the interview Paul! And nice to hear some classic Genesis: Dancing With The Moonlit Knight, chosen by Tony. Dreamtown from Checking Out Of London, sounded as delightful as ever, my personal favourite off that album is Ego & Id though! Tony's solo stuff is very interesting as always. The track Earth off Ra, had a Lawrence of Arabia feel to it! I thought your question and Tony's response about who was going to play flute him or John on tour was really funny! Marduk is also my favourite track on Hexameron, have to play that one soon Paul! It is natural that Tony will get labelled and referenced with Gabriel because there is both the similar vocals and the imaginative use of percussion rhythms, the build up of soundscapes. It is not that people are saying it is a clone, more that on order to describe a piece of music you need a starting place that people will understand. Eventually they will be comparing others pieces of music to Tony's. By the way saw Bluehorses at The Wharf in Tavistock Devon last night and they were better than ever, by eck, you must see them when they play the Robin 2 if you can Paul! The Electric harp and guitar interplay was just wonderful. How about something off Skyclad! Just typing this whilst the ads are on!

Wow, that second Jadis track was SUPERB! In response to your comments about Coheed and Cambria, difficult to tell from one track, pleasant enough stuff but sounds like most of the other heavy rock stuff bordering into progmetal and there is some real talented band out there as you know. Not least Soliloquy. No, the saviour of prog is, in my opinion, is ARfm Soundscapes and associated shows that play imaginative, emotive, quality rock and any venue that puts these talented bands on a stage. Ah, brilliant, you are now playing Nick Magnus's Marduk now, BRILLIANT!!!!!! Thanks Paul!

Thanks Boatman. Simon has promised to play some more from Coheed & Cambra on tonights show... I would have like to play a bit more but I'm afraid I don't think the lyrics are entirely suitable for my time slot.... (very dark!) Soliloquy, according to the CRS mag are set for 'world domination', I'm not going to argue.... I love the whole of the Jadis album... more of an edge at times, but still that wonderful Jadis sound, great harmonies. Now come on Boatman, I could hardly interview Tony Patterson, who chatted about Nick and not play Marduk now could I? The Strangefish album is pretty stunning as well, as us the new one from The Tangent. BOTY 2006 is going to be tough and it is only January! Will dig out some Blue Horses, played them a couple of weeks on the trot regarding a competition. Thanks for listening. Cheers Prog Paul...
