JB's are celebrating their 38th Birthday on Wednesday 19th March, with a reunion Birthday Bash. JB's namesake and original DJ from the old days Johny Bryant will also be in attendence. Sid Weston one of the co-founders (along with Sam Jukes) is hoping to write a biography about the history of JB's obviously including the famous people who have played at JB's like Robert Plant, U2 , The Police & Dire Straits. JB's is famous for giving new bands a stage to perform on and smaller bands a chance to play live. I was reading about the Birthday Bash in tonights E&S and one quote i found was in my opinion one of the reasons JB's is such a success. " The Club has thrived because of it's Friendly, inclusive atmosphere" from my own personal experience, I've never felt as welcome & included at any venue the way i do at JB's. JB's is ugly , it isn't perfect, but i love the place. Regardless of what anyone thinks of JB's and the area it resides in, I know the black country is ugly and urban. You Have to admit JB's is one the best Club's / Venues in the country in many ways! did you hear JB's say Gotthard who? even after been stung by only 40 paying customers turning up first time round, hell no! well thats actually 39 i had to pay for my mate who was only there as a favour to me. If your interested check out www.jbsdudley.co.uk for more info on the Reunion.... Happy Birthday JB's !!! Woody
