IT BITES to Reform, Record and Tour IT BITES are reuniting to record a new album and go on tour. The original line-up of John Beck on keyboards, drummer Bob Dalton, and bass player Dick Nolan, is to be completed by the addition of John Mitchell (Arena, Kino). Original singer and guitarist Francis Dunnery is unfortunately unable to commit to the reunion. With his personal life and career now largely based in the USA, recording and writing schedules were impossible to co-ordinate. Thus the remaining band members turned to John Mitchell, who John Beck and Bob have been working together with over the past few years in the band Kino. John Mitchell has a solid and impressive musical CV, having been lead guitarist in rock outfit Arena for 10 years, as well as playing and recording with John Wetton. At a number of Kino gigs, the band have played the It Bites classics ‘Plastic Dreamer’ and ‘Kiss Like Judas’ to a rapturous audience reception, so it seemed a perfect fit to propose Mitchell as successor. The band members have already started writing and will start recording later this year. There will be some live shows prior to the release of the album, and a full tour to accompany its 2007 release. A new website will be designed shortly. Although, excited by this news, its tempered by sadness as this probably means the end of KINO,which is a great shame.

LJC - you really don't need to worry John Mitchell is hugely talented and will do a 'simply marvellous' job! (and I'm not just saying that cos he's a mate) Ask PP and the Tea Lady! I think it'll be a great project and I'm well looking forward to it!

Problem is, Francis Dunnery WAS It Bites It Bites without him.. well, isn`t. From what I`ve heard, JM is indeed a very good guitarist, but Dunnery`s unique style was the crux of the band. It would be like having TNT without Tony Harnell...... Oh, hang on.....

No worries now,John mitchell posted this on the Kino forum. Re: It Bites reunites with John M There WILL be another Kino album at some point. I am very very proud of Picture indeed and i certainly aim to do a follow up in the not too distant future. Pete and I spoke about it in America the other day and we both look forward to getting involved again. Nobody panic, John xxx Now thats good news. ;D

It'll be nice to be able to hear It Bites music live again and I think John Mitchell will do a brilliant job. First saw It Bites when they supported Marillion who of course also changed their lead singer and drummer of course! Marillion are a good analogy as Fish continued to produce music that was brilliant and Arena came to life with the ex Marillion drummer Mick Pointer and someone called John Mitchell on guitars! Also Marillion continued to deliver some imaginative albums with their new singer Steve Hogarth, so everyone was a winner in the end.

Except those poor people who stumped up in advance for Marbles ;D Oh dear Liz, was it not as good as you had hoped? I bought the single-album version but have to say I didn't like it as much as the earlier stuff and think I've only played it twice! Saw them do a live set at HMV in Birmingham to promote the album too. Seeing them perform the whole of Brave at Nottingham was amazing though. They went through a strange phase of doing Univeristy gigs where they tried to re-invent themselves. They do seem to have lost the muse (marbles?) just recently but I enjoyed seeing them in the past. Maybe they need a new lead singer? ;D Where's Mr Mitchell?
