Well,it looks like this is gonna happen, though just the 3 man 80s/90s pop line up. How does everyone feel about it?,no doubt they`l put on a cracking show with the usual medley nod to their prog roots. However,id have loved Steve Hackett to be involved, and while Gabriel has said no go for now, nobody seems to give Steve a mention, which is a shame. Just wondered what anyone else thinks.

Hi Hanger! It has been a long long time hasn't it.... Well, for me, they've left it far too late and I agree with you that they should not ignore Hackett because the fact is that the most loyal followers are those that stuck with the band primarily up to 1978. The gig will sell out the venues regardless. If Gabriel has said no that is a shame, but maybe he is thinking the same, is the expectation just too high and will the old rivalries and egos come out to play? Be nice if Peter would just do a couple of guest spot vocals. Now if they staged a gig that covered their whole history with line-ups that had guest appearances that would be good. Personally I always thought Ray Wilson was an excellent singer who never got the time to make the break-through he deserved and he should be there for at least one song. Sometimes I think that nostalgia is raising expectations too much, you can't go back, that's what tributes are for - to provide the alternative reality Tardis style. Other times I think wouldn't it be great to see those legends bank on the same stage together! Call me Eeyore but I have the feeling that the kind of mega-stadium gigs they will put on, means the likes of me will be so far back that it'd be better waiting for the DVD!

Sorry folks... don't see the point!!!!! Despite being an avid Genesis fan, I really don't see the point in them getting back together for a 'Greatest Hits' (umm have I missed an 's' off that somewhere?)....type tour. New stuff, maybe, so long as it isn't as limp wristed as 'We Can't Dance'. Fans of 'old' Genesis would be better off listening to the recent Steve Hackett album and some of the new bands on the block, but those fans who want to wallow in a wave of 80's pop nostalgia, great.. not for me I'm afraid. Give me Jebo, Arena, Darwin's Radio, Strangefish anytime. Oh, by the way, this is about the 100th time this year that this has been put around the press, though this time it has made it onto the BBC website....... Oh and a huge elephant has just flown past my window. Cynical moi? Yep. Ta ta. Prog Paul

Genesis Reunion, what without Mr Hackett and Mr Gabriel. The Three Stooges is what it will be. There will be no homage to their past and if they do how can it be, if the classic Genesis 5 man line up is not realised.. No Hackett, no quality music,no soaring guitar solos and no individual command of the stage ,because Peter won't be there. I do not know whether I will get tix,if there is a rumour of a MK set up again I may consider it. A very disillusioned Steve Hackett afficionado:) And ignoring people like Ray Wilson is bad manners too.
