I hated Phantom Of The Opera! The score was very repetitive and loud. Recently on DVD I enjoyed 'Beauty Shop', which starred Queen Latifah. The heroine quits the beauty shop and sets up on her own with a few friends. Kevin Bacon as her old boss was a scream, especially with his long straggly locks.

'Kinky Boots' is a good one soundtrack-wise. The opening with young Simon dancing in his mum's shoes on the pier to David Bowie's 'The Prettiest Star' is poignant. He becomes a drag queen eventually and helps to save an ailing shoe factory by helping them design boots for other drag queens. Nick Frost from 'Shaun Of The Dead' plays one of the workers. And Kirsty MacColl's 'In These Shoes' plays over the credits.

Recently I was very impressed with the remake of 'The Producers', but not so much with 'Memoirs Of A Geisha'. The first made me laugh a lot, while the second was too long and boring.
