I agree Janette, Janie's treatment on the board was very harsh. But such is the nature of that Noticeboard, which is well known for its anti z stance, the inital post was a slag off post. She got ripped into becuase she tried to defend Z, but given Mark and Z's history, you need serious balls and a thick skin to battle it, BUT its hard to defend previous Z mistakes. Janies inital comment ( a response to me) was harmless and from a fan with no knowledge or care for the BS and Politics that go on behind closed doors. although she wasn't treated as such.... Sad to see you'll no longer be coming over for Z Rock Rob! I know there is a lot of politics and peoples own agenda's going on within the scene, although i know nothing and don't want to know nothing. I know the myth of a "melodic Rock Community" who are like a big family and helping each other out to keep the scene alive is complete and utter bollox and have said so in conversation to people! after all it is STILL about business, money and competition........... I'll be at Z Rock, not in defense of Mark or Z. but becuase i am a fan of this music and the bands and i ain't in anyone's "gang/click" but my own i'll support who i want and the events i want, the same as i always have done.............. Depends who else is on the bill as to whether I make the journey for this one. I've seen Wig Wam twice now, and although they're very good, I don't have the urge to see them again. Apart from their debut, Von Groove have done nothing that appeals to me and, after going on the web page of Big Noize.....not for me at all

I'm really looking forward to seeing Wig Wam @ JB's! I still can't believe it!!!!! although i agree about Big Noize Lee, not overly excited although it would be cool to see JLT!
I'm massive Von Groove fan, so i've got everything crossed for them making an appearance & Hell I'd go and watch Eden every weekend given the chance fantastic band!

I missed all the stuff on MR.com, but let's face it, most of them are ignorant bastards, I can't believe the way they talk to each other and slag each other off - it's worse than a playground - even when someone makes an innocent comment they get ripped to shreds These are supposed to be grown men FFS Never were truer words spoken, my sweet ...but when I sit back and ponder why he even bothers trying to put on a show it blows my mind It’s probably because he’s got skin thicker than an elephant’s hide, and brass balls to match. The live scene is so small as it is, and is forever shrinking, so fan’s options are limited. All MA is doing, for better or worse, is exploiting that niche to the best of his ability. I don’t think the reputed way he does business does him, or the scene, any favours though, but then again, what comes around goes around. I’ve never known of anyone yet not to end up with what they deserve, either good or bad. It may take more years yet, but he will end up exactly where he is destined to be. Whether that’s a positive place or a negative one is solely down to his own behaviour.

I didn't see the ZR hoo-ha on MR, but I'm always amazed at how nasty and personal they get with each other over there. Some of them need to grab themselves a life imo It's so much nicer here LOL Regarding the whole ZR debacle, I think the whole event would have more credibility if the organisers decided for certain where and when it was going to be, and made ONE announcement when all the details were finalised. I accept that *things* happen and there will be times when changes to the programme are unavoidable, but I find that at the back of my mind I never fully believe that ZR is actually going to happen!!

I think EVERYONE agrees with that statement alison! well excpet for Z That is......hahaha! The Uncertainity does drive away advance ticket sales, but then again no one trust's Z anymore and thats an issue that needs dealing with if Z want to change in the eyes of the fans.....

See there, an nice civil conversation on the topic That's how it's done people ;D You're preaching to the converted Rob -folk are always civil here! ;D To veer off topic slightly (sorry), I think it helps that most of us know most of the other posters, if you know what I mean. None of us can hide behind a keyboard and take pot-shots when we know we're likely to bump into half the community at whatever gigs we attend. And the fact that we're all lovely goes a long way too . Anyway, back to Z-Rock - carry on.

yeah thats right Jacqui the anonymity that some boards offers does bring out the worst in people so there is no fear of retribution, & like you say a lot of us on here have bumped into each other so we would only say things in a way in which we would say to that person's face! so regardless of opinion its a tad more respectful......except for me i think you all smell......

I smell divine, darling, for I'm wearing a blend of lavender, neroli (no, I don't know either ) and sweet orange oils, which is a bit nice. ---> www.lush.co.uk/products/Therapy_2161.aspxI may buy a bar for Mark Alger (see how I stayed on topic there )
